Rescuing an undead army.

Always great to see bowstrings. I was a bit worried that they might not work when doing my own 'army' skeletons as the bows end directly over the arms but they look pretty good. The belts look amazing.

They look great! When I first opened the thread I thought the third one along on the front row had a mohican, took me a moment to realise it wasn't a tall skinny reanimated slayer 🤣

Loving the hoods, they work really well

They look great, I think the leather bits and hoods and so forth you've added have taken them up that notch above. Very nice. I like the red-hammer paint job, for some reason red always looks good on bows. The little gateway scene is neat!

Anyhow I'm going to pinch the scraps of leather trick for some old skelie horsemen I picked up off ebay a year or two back that turned out to be less ideal in person than their photos had suggested, so they've sat on the shelf unloved. This has encouraged me to take another more experimental look at them and how I might "fix them".

Amazing stuff! Really love what you're doing.
A bit late to the party, but one of the few contrast paints I still rate and use is skeleton horde from citadel - does some nice yellowy stuff and can save time.
But, hey. You doing just great!

Hi, you really should. A few minutes with some greenstuff can cover a multitude of sins.
I use a thin elasticated cotton for the strings. Technically the could actually fire an arrow!

Done one! Well nearly. Love the shields. I was quite lucky with this purchase. I had 4 skeletons, so 2 spares. The spares have joined the archer regiment. The box is in great condition and I had a sheet of decals.
One scythe was broken off, but easily fixed. They were all undercoated in a reddish brown. I just reprimed and used my usual paint scheme.
Loving the guy with the lance. He appears to be having a great day!

I can imagine him getting a good hit on an enemy as the chariot thunders past and ending up being knocked clear off and left behind.

Finally finished my Gobbo archer regiment. I really like the warhammer fantasy regiments Goblins. I added in a few Ral partha archers and a Shaman. These are Kev Adams sculpts so they fit in well.
So, a regiment of 42. I wonder if these boys might actually hit anything. We will see soon as they are due a battle with my Dark elves.

Shortbows get volley fire in TOW:
When a unit with this special rule makes a shooting attack, half of the models in each rank other than the front rank (or front two ranks if the unit is on a hill), rounding up, can shoot (in addition to the usual models that shoot from the front rank, or front two ranks if the unit is on a hill). A unit cannot Volley Fire if it has moved for any reason during this turn (including reforming), or when making a Stand & Shoot charge reaction.

Oh. I play WFB 3rd edition. I was going to plonk them on a hill and roll loads of 1's as I usually do. I usually can't hit a barn door at two paces.
