Orks, Orks and moar Orks

Jungedi, that is some great stuff indeed. Not that I know what's really going on there but it all looks ace. If any of those bits and bobs and gubbins were actually available as parts, I'd be sure to shell out for something nifty there.

Your choices for models and their paint jobs are lovely. I especially like Ghazkull leading a freebooter band. Nice stuff

This one was finished quite a while ago but it's one of the starting points of the Ork band. While putting it together I of course had to jam my thumb up its armpit, squishing up the greenstuff tubing and only noticing it once it had cured. I still like the model, it's Goblinmaster zaniness at its best.

Glad it's not just me. I'm always doing that kind of thing - get something looking good on one side then ten minutes later realise I've just been holding my lovely acceptable sculpting and it's now all squashed. I'm still going to pinch the idea for my orc dreads when I come to them - for some reason it just never occurred to me to "fix" the joints like that and I always thought they looked a bit meh if you had the arms too far one way or the other because of that.

Wonderful progress in this thread all around but the dread is particularly great

Thanks for the kind comments, I really do appreciate!
Cleanliness or 'neatness' is one of the main goals when I paint. I'll try and emulate Mike McVey until the day I stop painting minis altogether.
There's an entire squad of cap chaps in the pipeline; what I tried to do with this first one was to give him one of those cheap kiddie sunglasses you could buy in the 80ies. Remember those? They were pink or yellow and just had black plastic sheeting for specs. I find pink hard to paint so the kiddie goggles might look too red to identify.

Also, finally another prestige ork is done: Ork Renegade from 1989. Definitely part of my Top-10-Ork-Lineup. Here he is proudly puffing out his chest waiting for someone to come and think they're hard enough:renegade.jpg

Haa, a little bit of both
When it comes to clans, the choice for 'primary' clan has already been made because only one clan can field a Goffik Rokk Band in the Warboss' retinue: Goffs, so Goff it is.
Black kit is a bother to paint though and I can't do checkered patterns, so I dress the Goffs in grey with yellow details (boots, headgear, gloves etc.).
Goffs are limited to only one of each oddboy though; if I want to have a second wizard in the band (and who wouldn't?) I have to include a Bad Moon mob. Those guys use just the same palette as the goffs but have yellow pauldrons and grey boots. The Renegade is going to be their leader, the Weirdboy is still waiting in the wings.
The aforementioned goffik Rokkers could well be my favourite Orks ever. I've painted mine years and years ago (and still kinda like 'em) and always nourished the idea of some day being able to field them in the centre of a suitable warband - which right now is actually coming together - or at least I hope it will.
Pic related: Rokkers!
