Oldhammer on easyliveauction

Easily avoided. Back the companies in it for the long term and looking to expand their range. You’ll likely bag a discount and get the rewards early but you won’t end up with a Monty Hall haul of Kickstarter exclusive tat.

So they sold for £380 + fees so not far off £500 which to me seems a hell of a lot. I know there where some models but condition didn't look great maybe I missed something ???

I spotted Ranlac to go with the other 2 so maybe someone was speculating on more ? There where some nice undead cavalry and some skaven but nothing that really stood out for me and said previously the condition didn't look that great so always an added risk. I cannot wait to see what the Spined Dragon goes for but guessing its going to be in the hundreds.

Well I guess if it sold for £500 it's "worth" that at least to the buyer! I suppose if you are running a large store you can afford to occasionally speculate on some more random lots.

The Spined Dragon is one of those models I'd like, but not at the current ebay prices. I've bid a few times on those that come on at more reasonable prices and I'd probably accept that getting one will be a couple of hundred, but I'd not want to pay more than that. I already have enough lead that will be unpainted. I might put in a bid on it, but I can't imagine it will be enough. I've often wondered where the licence must lie - I assume maybe still with GW otherwise someone enterprising would have re-produced it by now ala NB02. I also slightly wonder at the quantity that still appear on ebay on and off ... lots of lovely "fresh" dragons, possibly a few more than one might expect!

also alot (if not all) the Spined dragon's suffer from either Lead rot, or just metal fatigue. the second is more likely.

Back in the late 80s, the Comic book field was almost completely destroyed (yep, possible) due to 'Investors' and then some companies trying to grab up the cash from these people.. tons of 'BIG #1 Collectors Item!' and 'Alternative Covers!' all the time.. Very simpler to the earlier 80s video game crash (which, despite what the idiots say, had NOTHING much to do with E.T. It was to do with clones and the kinda business style that people like Tramiel was pushing.. at the same time (and again in the 90s, and kinda again now) that style is pushed in Comics...

anyway.. Investors can be a HUGE bane to people.. in all fields..

Well I nearly bid on the Dragon, but decided not to. Fair price I think £180 + fees + shipping. Probably be about £250 all in. So in my max ballpark, but well I don't have a spare £250 right now and the lead pile is too big anyway with too many unpainted dragons so was good and my will power held strong. Still hopefully there will be a happy gamer somewhere and not just an ebay shark...

If I'm honest I thought it would go for more considering how much that job lot went for. I guess the dragon is something a collector buys for them and not as an investment which what the other lot was. I know which I'd rather have.

Well look what appeared on ebay today: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/326430551032
for £490 ... and there was me thinking that some lovely oldhammer had finally gotten the model they wanted. Makes me wish I'd popped in that bid I couldn't really afford!

Auction on left, ebay on right ...

Still interesting I suppose to see it re-surface!

Interesting Moonhead Collectables. Looking at his Ebay shop doesn't seem to be a major seller of Warhammer but must know his stuff to buy it and know it may have been under valued ?

Or just an opportunist who thinks people don't like to wait, so if he has one for sale, people will buy. some 'collectors' have more money then sense.
