I'm the other way. The trading page gets pretty fast responses, even if pricing is less gentlemanly.

The main page on the other hand seems to be mostly people asking very un-oldhammer questions (lots of "can I" or "what's the rule for...") that and the weekly argument about what is oldhammer.

With the trading page, you can learn pretty quickly whose posts to not even look at. And I've had much better luck posting wants over there. Usually I've worked out a trade out sale with in 24 hours.

I lost patience with the trading group and unsubscribed. Seemed to be a never-ending stream of poor photographs of lead with no prices on it. I may be old fashioned but if something is for sale, you have a price on it. Otherwise it's just something you own that you'd get rid of if someone offered you silly money for it. Which, if you think about it, describes most things you own.

I too am growing more and more fed up with the FB pages in general...the community one is not terrible...met some great folks there like Rusty and Bulldog, Con-fusion etc. but most of it is drivel. The trading board is a whole other story....it has become ebay without the safety measures built in. There is no community feel there....it is all business...cut throat business with no thought given to politeness or doing things in a "proper" way...it just sucks IMO.

I gave up on the trading group when someone tried to convince me that his badly painted plastic RTB01 beakies, (in bits!) were worth at least £5 each, and wouldn't hear anything to the contrary, even in the face of ebay completed auctions.

Bearing in mind I've got about 50 or so at the moment, and have paid from nothing (thanks Steve, still owe you a favour!) to, at tops, £2 a figure, averaging at £1 each, that's not even a negotiating position, that's just being a delusional prick.

I feel the trading page has fell to the taint (HA HA taint...there you go Chico) of Chaos! There is some decent discussion on the actual Oldhammer page, but most of it is just meh. The discussion about Khaine and Khorne what is that stuff??? So chaos is twisting it's malevolent tentacle on it as well. In the next few weeks I might just start taking screen shots of both pages and selling them on ebay as the new Realm of Chaos books.

So out of the trinity of the facebook page, facebook trading, and forum choose your chosen avenue of Oldhammer, and don't let the Inquisition get ya.
