Oldhammer Ahoy

How about we do it properly and build a pool? We could even release real wildlife...

Now that this idea is on the table there is surely no turning back?

I can only do the floor if I'm allowed to build a giant croupier's rake to move my ship.

Speaking personally, I would prefer to avoid the floor if at all possible. I shattered my knee a few years ago and while it's healed more-or-less OK, kneeling down is now awkward at best and downright painful at worst. If that's the only option then I can manage, but I'd prefer not to.

Giant semi-transparent table with super-strong magnets mounted under the ships that monkeys could manipulate from underneath according to the captains' instructions?

The picture was taken as a ' anyone one to take them off my hands, would suit someone with OCD and who likes 3D puzzles'. This thread has made me want to have a go at one of them but my missus would love it if I could remove them. Many years of buying for Kids as they loved the dragons.

Any chance I could get a better view of the ship second in from the left with tattered sails - is it the same as this one below being used as an Undead Pirate ship?

It's for a different project - the Galleykeep in our recreation of the Trolltooth Wars. I'm after a ship that has more fantasy type gubbins stuck on it to start me off as a base.

Monkeys might cause problems. Now remote-controlled, cyborg monkey-servitors on the other hand...

Oh eck!!!!!!!

I see a lot I'm going to have to live up to if I'm going to join in the salty sea dog fun.

I'm going to have to start scouring the net for ratty ships!

You'll need one with more life boats - rats and sinking ships and all that ;)

Remember, every ship has it's rats - except those of the Ocelot People of Lustria - bloodthirsty barbarians that they are!!!

It is and sorry it has been sold. (By my wife without me knowing)

Might be a bit small. I'll lose that awful rigging and those cannon (the moulded in broadsides in the hull will suffce. Organ guns?) but I think it would look better with halflings than full size Empire troops (the original plan). Unfortunately all of my individually based figures are now on 25mm bases for skirmishing and the only 20mm based stuff I had to had was the old 4th edition Goblin spearmen.

Still, it was only £6.

I will re-create my Pygmy outrigger canoe in honor of this great event. Unless I make it big enough for me to sail across the Pond, I won't be attending, except in spirit!

That looks pretty good as a start! :) Amazin' what a paint job on a cheap plastic toy will do.

Can I try to use this????

Why not? I think Patrick fared quite well at the Quickening didn't he? :)

We can keep it to a table. The rules help us ...
You can simply sail off the table .... small boats can come back on the next turn and bigger ships the turn after.
It means you miss some of the movement and maneuvering ... but makes it easier to get on with the fighting.
