Oldhamer Legacy Crew 2015 ("Arrr!") - Sign Up and Progress

Re: Oldhamer Legacy Crew 2015 ("Arrr!") - Sign Up and Progre

Now look what you made me do!

Christian Birk here, over from the FB group.

I saw the entries from last year and decided I wanted to participate in the next one.

My abilities are no where near most of you guys level, but I can still get a participation medal, right

So What I will be adding to the crew is a Orlock Juve.

This green pirate just off the hive world got his arm ripped of by some kinda weird looking multi armed bug during a salvage mission into a space hulk.

Amongst the wreckage recovered was a Space marine power fist, so few credits later, a s**tton of alcohol his torn of limb had been replaced with a mighty power glove, the side effects of this transplant is that sadly the Juve ain't all there any more and don't really understand the concept of danger (I mean carrying around the arm of a genetically engineered supersoldier, would you?)

Hopefully I won't disappoint ;)

Oh and thanks for having me.

Wellthought out and wellthought out, just had a look at my time bits/damaged pile and the idea kinda came together.

Did a small dry fit last night and here's how the idea is so far;

Not entirely satisfied with the wires though, that will need to be changed. Maybe the crews medic have and idea? Or is it more the engineers job

charging up power with a condensator makes sense

Wires are a bit on the thin side indeed, maybe you can use guitar strings to get something a little more satisfying ? Oh and throw that Pglove into some dettol, it's got far enough paint right now

I really like the composition, simple, effective, fitting.

I was going to say guitar strings too...

Short, bearded engineer ready for paint:

Like all good (space) dwarves, he's got a grudge.

Love the squat engineer! He's got a vaguely preacher-like feel to him, like he's sermonising!

Pledging a set of 3 -
Kangaroo girl, Skinless Metal face and their dog.
Pics will follow when I find the damn models... I know that I have them somewhere...

I brought things forward and did some work on my pirate last night. I've still got hands, boots, possibly trousers to sculpt. I'll probably add some more bits and pieces too ;)

Love the moustache and bent back, for some reason, I can't imagine space pirates any other way ;)

Wonderful model.

Surely that's the clear precedent for how space pirates should look? ;)

Is his aerial too long by the way? I'm wondering if it would be better shortened.

For practical reasons yes, for aesthetic ones no.

The aerial is fine, as is the rest of the model (actually, it is darn great!). One issue: the way he holds the gun. That is somewhat non agressive as he does not even hold the grip.

Maybe that's the explanation why...
This is the internet. Dont expect me to read that whole WALL OF TEXT to find such tiny details!
My own way to convert would have been to cut off the arms before attaching the gun and so I just jumped to a conclusion.

Btw, the trousers seem ok - nicely ragtag and with the thin legs they will add to the Nat-Flanders-unfit look.
