I think he means that sort of floor polish ink wash thing that many painters, (mostly historical?) dip their base coloured models into to add shade.

Cheers Sade - they are quite good fun. Probs one of the few modern figs I kinda rate. Simple. Not too many spiky, tentacly, pouchy bits. If ya get me. Most modern GW is hooooogely elaborate

Love the colours on those lizard mounts. Excellent timing since I'm doing my last lot of Plague Bearers and have opted to do some of this batch with red skins so great to see some similar colour palettes for inspiration.
