My Random stuff

While I still wanna tweak my Dark Elf a bit, I got my third of my Corpse collection finally finished.

Not great photo again but. Trying out some new basing stuff I got and I think this is a pretty nice job. trying to get the base NOT to outshine the miniature, but to add to it for a nice little scene of a corpse.

Just keep people informed about this, back around... mm.. 1985 to 1991, mostly with the C range, Citadel produced Corpse figures for most of the main units. I don't think they sold well at all and some are quite hard to find or get hold of. I started with a Skaven figure I wanted and got, the C47 'Dead Dead' Skaven casualty. And decided to make a little 40mm base diorama for it. Outside some particular games and for diorama's, Corpses don't really make much sense. If you want to do a unit where when a figure is killed, instead of just removing the figure, you replace it with a corpse, well.. you will need ALOT of the same corpse.

Anyway.. So far, I have 3 I have been able to get hold of. C47 Dead Dead, C09 Dark Elf Casualty and C26 Sterben Man-at-arms Casualty. I will put Sterben's name on this base. It kinda annoys me that only SOME of the figures had names. I have worked out there were 10 of interest for me which count as the corpse figures from this time. with 2 which are KINDA part of the line which I'm interested in, but not as much. Because, I'm pretty sure they didn't sell well, it's hard to find them. I was lucky with Sterben here in that it was one of the figures that was part of Bryan Ansell's package deal and just the other year Foundry had it back into production (with an unrelated wounded figure).

While a bit pointless, What I'm kinda looking for are:
C08 - High Elf Casualty
C10 - Siff - Half Orc Casualty
C15 - Owd Glodger - Orc Casualty
C18 - Night Horror Corpse (yes, I think this counts)
C34 - Dwarf Casualty
C34 - Sacrifice (not a dwarf, kinda part of one of there dungeon diorama sets so much harder to get)
C46 - Townsfolk Casualty
-Lessor list-
C17 - Slain Skeleton (much lesser interest as the figure and pose is pretty easy to get and I predates the line, being a Fantasy Tribe Figure but they did re-issue it in the C range
C19 - Slain Zombie - Ugh.. again, part of the Fantasy Tribe range, there appears to have been as many variations of this as Kev Adams did Snotlings. a VERY common figure... through that doesn't mean I can find one.

other companies have done corpses and over the years they did a bunch of Mordheim and other bits (and technically, the Slain Space Marine probably should be lumped into this list) but those are the particular ones I'm after. I'm not sure what to do with the base names for the ones which didn't have names... Do I not bother and have them stick out, or Do I make up names?

Why I appear to be growing a garden of Corpses... I don't know. Fun though.

Froggy.jpg
yeah.. picture really doesn't help but had a bit of spare putty mixed up the other day, and since I'm almost finished working on a small lake/pool 'token', I decided to sculpt a little frog for some practice. I mean, it's not fantastic but its about 10mm square with 8mm height. I'm gonna try to see if I can do a mould for this (always like to do that if I think I could use it more then once) and Its probably gonna be good enough to appear on the old base and bits ^_^

I think the worse part are the flippers but seriously.. at that size? ugh.. not quite for me.

more quickie photos cause I really need to take more and better ones:

A bit rough in places which I might touch up but for terrain (kinda) I don't mind too much.

Basically, objective token. I got another one I'm working on using the same pillar base (from Crocked dice) but I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it to change it up a bit. That flash really shows up some bits that need tweaking.

It appears some aquatic creatures might be involved in some kinda cultish behaviour and happens to have some sacrificial spots around the place.

^Simple, useful, and . . . well . . . not nice, precisely, but effectively horrifying looking. The ferns are a particularly nice touch. Are those paper punch sorts of leaves? They look good!

^_^ also could paint them a bit better. they are from one mould set I got (slightly miscasted cause I've been getting the odd air bubble right at the bottom of the resin.. might need to remember to paint on the first layer, but I don't want to take too long before pouring) only real issue with ones like it are because they are one piece molds, the backs of them are just flat, so with some of the arm posing, you either need to hide the fact, or sculpt parts of the back yourself after carving out. But they are good enough for there job as generic terrain bits.

could of quickies. A plastic barn from... I have no clue. I based it and wasn't happy with how the static grass came out (I screwed something up with either the glue or the static and it's pretty flat) but fair enough. I also used some resin casts for a few bits and pieces around it/

Then a smaller piece, a Tent from I think Scotia Grendal. Again, based, I think the notice board is from some Citadel spur which I got in a job lot of bits some time back, and I was gonna have some writing or something on it but couldn't think of anything good.

The flash isn't helping but they are fair enough for Terrain pieces
