Michaels 25mm WFB Stuff...

I am not sure what metal it is. Shall I post you a couple of pieces for testing?
PS: That photo I used is not of what I actually have, my stuff is now packed away in the loft, I think my bits are steel.

They were certainly used for that so seems fair. I am very fortunate that one of if not Europe's largest antique centres is a 10 minute drive away. We have so much quality stuff in the house that costs the same or less than modern crap. Nice to get proper built things that have history, quality and soul. Bit like oldhammer I guess.. :)

The lined one was made in 1882 by James Gardner who made collectors cases for the public, museums and the Queen.

The one with all the little teeny drawers has no information, but it came full of about 3000+ small metal printers letter face block thingies, like this:

That will be why the workmanship is so wonderful. What a great find.
100% agreed about old furniture. A secondhand solid oak chest of draws is bizarrely cheaper than new flat-packed pine, with the added advantage that the bottoms don't full out after 18 months.

So that is it, the 2 main forces are done.
Villagers will be the main thing of 2026 along with the village buildings and surrounds.

There is a secret project I have been mulling over the last 6 months and I shall start work on that between the village, it is sort of related but there will be no WIP. Just one day the finished thing will appear, though possibly clues may appear in the form of things on my master wants list here.

I was wondering if to theme the colours of the villagers or just do each one as I see fit, a theme would be cool in some ways, maybe a spot colour, but then after pondering I decided that is too much like army uniforms...

Merry Christmas everyone, and if it is not so merry where you are, don't suffer in silence, reach out to someone.
