Metal Nostalgia Force painted models

Thankyou!

One for the other side now - the 1990 World Eater:

Thanks! I am still finding red a bit of a slog compared to blue - haven’t quite settled on how I want to paint it yet but I’m getting closer. This chap has green and blue under painting for the shaded areas on the red which I think works better for me than just mixing in black.

Managed to sneak in one more mini before the end of the month - meet Brother Fielding:

I had started on another Renegade but left him half done to go paint something blue as the unfamiliar palettes of the Renegades aren't quite as relaxing to work with. I'll get back to him after another couple of Ultramarines...

Don't remember that one... interesting to see a Marine with an Eldar weapon, though love the paint job.. really looks like he just looted it from one ^_^

Cheers! I really dig the old Marines with odd weapon loadouts - I was pretty happy to have found this guy and Brother Gorshin with his needle gun, and I'd like to one day get my hands on one of the shoulder mounted grenade launchers for the heavy weapons guys...

lovely painting, especially the scrollwork around the shoulder pad.

10% chance of a specialist weapon marine being armed with one using the wh40k:rt charts.

Another one done... a Captain this time:

I borrowed a backpack topper from a modern Praetor kit to jazz it up a bit - was a good fun model to paint from start to finish.

not bad.. kinda feel the models head with the pirate like ear ring doesn't quite fit the greco-roman theme of ultramarines but that's no real issue ^_^

Dear Angrygriffin, i like so much all those old marines and the way that your painted them, well contrasted, good !
The realistic blazing blade of this last guy is awesome.

Thanks guys!

I had a go at more freehand on Brother Repp tonight:

He was a bit of a pain to light - those recessed eye sockets were both hard to paint and hard to get light to - but I had some fun with the painting at least.

nice. Really like the warning sign. That's small detail..

Cheers! The little exclamation mark was a bit of a nailbiting moment but I fortunately didn't slip - re-doing that yellow would have been a right pain.

Interesting combination of ancient and cyberpunk.

I keep on meaning to lean more into the cyberpunk aspect of RT's aesthetic with some badly spelled slogans and more grunginess but just haven't found my way there yet - I'm not yet sick of the cleaner look.

These are lovely. How many have you got now?

Hm... Painted? Must be twenty or so all up spread across a few squads and some HQ. I did chuck a couple of minis I painted last year back in the stripping jar (this guy and this guy) as I am not happy with how I did them, so that number has actually gone down this month. I didn't ever like how the ultra matte varnish looked on the Terminator Honours guy. Unpainted? I keep a list here with front/back and tab photos of each mini so I know what I'm missing when I see things come by in the buy and sell groups/eBay.

Awesome and lovely. I'm still shocked with the face painted in the helmet green visor.

Thankyou! I'm somewhat surprised I actually managed to pull off what I saw in my head. I think it's my favourite paint job to date.
