lovely paint job and basing, are those real pee-the-beds? ;)
Thanks, but I'm clueless on the pee-the-beds reference. If it's the giant flowers, they were some type of mini-daisy bush that had these wonderful dried bits when they finished blooming.

When I was a (smaller) kid we used to dare each other to eat daisies because they supposedly made you pee your pants... also this one kid ate a frog and all slime came out of his mouth.

Skeles look really good Naagruz. Normally I like the empty black socketed look for skeles but I do think the OSL (object source lighting for those confuzzeled by that initialism) in the eye sockets works very well with the style of painting on the rest of the model. Lots of good ideas here for painters of the dead, inspirational stuff!

Moving through my dead swampy minions, I have Slawnn O' Thee'ded in the hopper (Hur, hur, hur...).
My son said he needed a bug on his tongue, so there it is.

'Bout wrapped on this one. More basing & a some paint; the ferns look a little flat to me.

C&C appreciated as always.

Awesome as always :)
The colours certainly make him look like something from a swamp
Did you make the ferns or are they Busch (sp?)

Busch! They have loads of neat stuff. The plastic is great because you can use heat or pressure to shape it to look more natural

Geez I paint slow.

You might paint slow, but you paint well! :)

Really great work on the undead looking Slann, as well as the excellent basing . 8-)

Wow. New member here and just spent a pleasant 20 mins going through this thread. Loving your undead.

Fun Sunday distraction that isn't specific to WFB, but a test for some basing scenery. I tried using balsa & basswood, which are passable at arms length, but look like a bad movie prop up close. Went with polystyrene because it is easily etched/shaped & doesn't have the "hairy" look that real wood does.

At scale with the retrogob:

Reall nic epiece of timber !

Another way to do convincing wood pieces is with P-card, you can scratch it with a modelling knife or you can file it with very coarse sans paper and you'll get excllent textures form it without getting the texture of balsa.

So back when I was undercoating most everything in white primer, I picked up the latest Citadel Compendium and ran into this article:

It inspired me to try something new, was tremendous fun and resulted in the model on the right. Having recently picked up the most awkwardly posed C28 Giant available, I'm looking to recreate an old paintjob. Fortunately, I still have some of the same paint and a dim, fading memory of what the heck I did.

With any luck, I'll get close to the original and get these guys based out properly. I hear GW now makes 50mm squares that would bulk these guys up a bit. That is going to come in handy since these are probably smaller than the current Ogres...
