Lost Lead

Walkin' dead (from Dunharrow, or Dunsmuir, or Dunkin' Donuts)!
Love these minis & found one more in my bits box, so I'll have to make the threesome a foursome.

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! Looks bloody lovely!

I soooo want to paint Undeads too!!!

Fantastic work on those Dead Men of Dunharrow models, they're not particularly great sculpts (imo) and you've really made them look great. :)

I found my plastic skellies. Oddly, they all have spears that are unbroken after 20+ years. I'm off to play the lottery next...

This is a concept bit. Probably going to end up with more funky growing stuff on the bones, but I'm shooting for undead that will excite the vegetarians out there.

Kneecap-eating Zompygmy progress:

Some touch-up details, basing, & I'm calling it done. Maybe more blud fer da' blud gawd.

Another ancient skelly experiment. Might get wound up enough to do a unit.

that green metal is amazing. any tips?
Thanks!
Basically, it's similar to what I did in my pigments thread for verdigris HERE.

Brassy/copper paint underneath, apply dry pigments (white, turquoise, green-blue), fix with turpentine, & then rub off some of the pigment in select areas with a damp brush. I also stippled in some greenish-brown oil paint & blended that out with a damp brush as well.
Entertaining experiment in green rust it was!

Love the idea of using moss and flock to depict vegetation and the glowing eyes and corroded armour are also excellent. Very nice work!

Is that real moss growing (well, not actually growing but you know what I mean) on the skeleton? It looks amazing! It must have been really fiddly to glue in place though. The verdigris on the metal and the decaying bones are also top knotch.

Its a mix of Woodland Scenics foam flock, lichen, & real moss. I try to plunder my natural environs as much as possible & am always on the lookout for basing freebies.
Sticking it on is actually quite easy ("Fiddly" took on new meaning after converting models in 6mm.). Using matte medium as an adhesive, I just grab a bit of moss with tweezers, dip it into the medium, and then use my trusty wire poker to push the moss off the tweezers & pop it into place. I use healthy gobs of blu-tac to hold the model since flocking the mini in this manner is a two-handed operation.

Pretty much in the bag with the zompyg. Likely adding more jungle plants, but they are a bit labor-intensive.
