Imperial Orks

I'm staggered at the gs work...particularly that smooth torso. Very nicely done Sean...is there a Commissork on the cards?

Cheerz Ladz!

Smooth GS work is courtesy of my clay shapers 8-)

That Kommisork comes up all the time! There are a good few models that are suited to this role in existing ranges (Kromlech, Mantic, etc.) so he would be down on the priority list but I would like to do him eventually, it's nice to do your own take on a familiar theme after all. He would have quite a unique poise I feel. I would prioritise things like the veteran unit leader (with ornate breast plate and Roman centurion style helmet crest), close combat weapons, special/heavy weapons, officer, medic and so forth first...probably.

There will be plenty of rippy chainsaw things to go with them, that's for sure!

Thanks for the comments all, I got my camera working again so it's update time. :)

I have been spending my spare time working the body. Bear in mind that these are still WIP, final product will be cleaner and with a few characterful details added.

I am happy with the shape and fit and general proportions of the armour plating now, next step it to add some surface detail to break up the flat areas. This head needs the chin strap finished with some armour plates but is nearly there I think. I need to finish the lazgunz and ripper blades when I get those first 2 heads finished. After that I am looking forward to working on some more heads. Lots of heads is a way to give them plenty individual character and what could be more fun than sculpting ork faces??? Nuttin' dats wot!

Thanks Suber. I will be focused on getting them to a good enough state to be cast-able this month, it will be rewarding to eventually build a squad out of the bits.

Great work, would be nice to see some specialist models, like a Tekknischun ...

Cheers dude. I will get some interesting heads done up to go with them, medic, heavy weapon head, sargent, officer, cowboy roughrider.....

keep showing them....

Will you also do some gretchins for them?? Like Gretchin nurses for the medic or uniformed gretchin soldiers...

I would like to sculpt EVERYTHING but....one step at a time, these things can be a time sink to make so you have to prioritize wisely. :)

Update time :):

A quick and dirty prototype casting:

Getting there. Still not 100% happy with the armour as I ended up coming back to the american football body armour look I wanted to avoid, doh! The other prototype is better in that regard. Overall I am pretty stoked with the progress so far and am looking forward to getting the body armour nailed down tight and moving on to more lovely heads and some shooty gunz and rippers for da boyz.

Everything is ace except for that silly Donald Duck ass! :) But I can't really blame you for that. I like it a lot!
