Heroquest the way it's meant to be

Man, I hate seeing that 'Eavy metal page. I'd much prefer that skeleton over the "bigger than a living man" one I have tons of. Ha, kind of like how different the models in space crusade were, with the prototypes shown.

OK ... this thread has caused me to dig out a set of Heroquest to have another go at.
I hate you all.
(Not sure when ... I have a few projects on the go already. )
Harry, I just posted some of my own HQ shenanigans on my blog.

How I wish the Orks and Gretchin looked like their prototypes/on the side of the Space Crusade box...

Looks rather similar, don't they? I mean, all the models look similar - but the gargoyle especially. I'm curious if he has a plastic variant or if he just did a conversion to get near the metal prototype in appearance. Could someone with a better grasp of french than "fromage" ask?

The question intrigues me too, as I happen to know some french, I took the liberty to ask, let's hope he answers. ;)

If I had to bet, I would say he has the metal version.

Come on guys, haven't you ever played "spot the difference" I'd say he has a plastic version but he's converted the whip and sword. Either that or he's converted a metal version to look a bit more like the plastic one ;)

leg armor too

his matches the prototype but I think you're probably right. it looks like he added rings to the chaos sorcerer as well.

Yeah, it's no question a plastic version (just look at the wings, dead give away). Just wondering if there (possibly) was a different plastic version. Not very likely with the costs of plastic tooling, 3-up sculpting and so on...

He's gone to great lengths duplicating the McVey paintjobs (and trumping ol' Mike on several accounts). Modding the weapons of the gargoyle isn't that big a deal in comparison. =) I'm a bit impressed by the whip though, it's very close to the original even if there are a few differences. He should've carved the sword to better match the curves of the original prototype.

Wonder how many of the metals were made, btw... Anyone know?

the guy who paints this heroquest set is a professionnal sculptor...and also a god painter...who has won multiple Demons and a Slayer Sword (well known in France) :o

Sure...he's gifted :geek:

Here is my small contribution to Heroquest as it should be:
