Harry does dungeon tiles.

Wonderful stuff.
Thank you very much for sharing (be damned for planting a new project in my brain)

Harry, your Quest room with the lighting effect is stonking - how did you achieve that? I'm guessing in your case it was freehand rather than an airbrush? Amazing

Stunning paintwork Harry, you've really captured that eerie, glowing feel to the dungeon rooms. The grey corridors with the touches of green work really well too. You should be well chuffed with these!

Thanks very much fellas

What is this airbrush of which you speak? What magic is it that allows you to brush with air?
I guess folks would call it "wet blending". I paint the whole think really quick with the lightest colour and then add a bit more colour to that colour and whilst the first colour is still wet paint the whole thing except for the lightest part with the next colour and then add a bit more colour and paint a bit further out a bit darker and so on and so on. Just keeping the paint wet and sloppy and working really fast with a half inch house painting brush ... essentially using the piece itself as a bit of a pallette and blending it all together as I go ... the whole base coat is done in a couple of minutes ... but then it has to be before it has a chance to dry.

It is a bit easier to see on one of the WIP photos I will post later as my blending was not so smooth ...

Very, very cool. Can we game on these on Friday? ;)
Yes. I can do a GM'ed game so you can see the difference.

Thanks Stuart. I am chuffed with how it is all coming together. It was seeing your step-by-step that gave me the final nudge to give this a go. So thanks again.

Got a bit more done on Sunday ... made some progress on some of the rooms ....here you go:

@Steve ... so you can see from the first picture the blending I was talking about and the brush strokes are still visible with some of the darker colours. I don't worry about it too much at this stage ... i just slap it on and try and get it somewhere close. Then when I come back to it ... some washes here and there and some drybrushing here and there and everything smooths out a bit and it looks OK.

... aaaand another:

(Still needs some work with the blending in the corners especially).

No, like a little goblin... :)

I like your slime, nice and... green! :)
That's slime for you.

Didn't sound like a goblin to me.

Ah, of course ... sillly me.

Sooo ... up next another one of my rooms ....

It kind of works either as two big alcoves off a corridor or two small alcoves in a room.

Beautifully painted; any chance you could photograph a step by step for us on the next tile you paint?

Thanks fellas.

I can try .... the small problem is I have to work quite fast ... it is all just wet blended right there on the tile. It takes about two minutes. I might see if I can get my boy ... who is a bit more teched up than I am to film it on an ipad or something and then he can help me get it onto teh interwebz somehow. I'll give it a go.

Soooo ...where next?

Next I had a crack at the fighting pit. I have seen various clever ways capturing the fore shortening and keeping the tile to a shallow depth .... in the end I just decided to build it with some real depth .....
