• Welcome to the Golden Gobbo painting competition. If you'd like to read some of the ancient history you can on the Realm of Chaos 80s blog.

This competition is held some years and you'll find threads here describing how to enter and when the competition is running (typically after BOYL each year).

Other than the fame and wonderment of your peers there is often a prize kindly donated and you'll have the wonder of being awarded badges for your profile here.

GG 2025 Golden Gobbo '25

Ok, I'll go with this little guy. I had to repair him and add some stones to the base because the feet & slotta were really warped
I'll do my best but I'm warning you: This may be too bright and colorful for your taste .

(I'm sorry but my lack of proper shields made me do this -although it's technically a beastmen shield).

Theme is "Gotrek, but it's a cow".

Hello there!

Sorry, kind of wild couple of days at work after I got approved! As @Wilbur the Red said, I learnt recently about the forum and Goldedn Gobbo because of him, so as an oldhammer enthusiast I just had to get in!

Currently debating which miniature to enter, though, as I have a couple that would work well...

Is he cloaked? ;)

As Gerhart sounds like a Germanic name, I'll say mahlzeit to him and hope he understands me.
I'm afraid that was the name I chose for a D&D paladin way back when I played, but I know next to nothing of German

Welcome to the forum! What you considering painting for the Golden Gobbo?

A friend of mine gave me a while back most of his old world greenskins army, mainly orcs and goblins, though there were the occasional chaos
and dwarf miniatures. I´d say all of them are from 6th edition. And there's a never painted Grimgor Ironhide in there that is a fantastic sculpt.

But on the chaos side there's a Games Day miniature from 2002, Hrothgar Daemonaxe, also a fantastic sculpt, and is a bit outside of my comfort zone since I mostly paint orks as I'm building a Beastsnagga army for 40K.
