eBay Bargains, Deals, etc.

what's the name of that company that do.. kinda modern style but not totally awful fantast figures which are all built around 'disabled' characters? so you get a wizard in a wheel chair and stuff. Nice ideas them. (kinda reminds me of the Barbarian chief in Ronan the Barbarian)
Not so sure about minis, but there was also the 'Silver Horde', Cohen the Barbarian's elderly (& supposedly 'less able') gang in Terry Prachett's Discworld book - The Last Hero - from 25yrs ago. One of whom was wheelchair bound, looking pissed off and very capable. :D

The Silver horde first appeared in Interesting times ^_^ where one of the died (teach)

I think I'm thinking of the Dungeons & Diversity figure range. despite 'diversity' they are pretty much just 'in a wheelchair' and digital but fair enough and the ideas are good.
Oh and hte guy in Ronal (spelt it wrong) is this guy:

(if you haven't seen the film, you kinda should. It's a parody/homage to 80s fantasy films and heavy metal music. Adult only

The Ronan the barbarian books are also good, if you like cheesy humour. I've seen the models you were talking about - they were linked as an attendee at one of the recent events I think, but can't remember who they were. I think @Sprue_Goblin_Games went to the event and may remember, or remember the thread at least?

yeah, I know about the books, but that was a mistake on typing. I was referring to the Danish film 'Ronal' more then the midworld books.

Wow, hell of a collection. Now maybe I need a backup set ...

I suspect whilst they will probably sell they won't sell for as much as they could make. I think they'd be better off selling in smaller sets rather than 100 issues at a time. Although I quite get the whole "not wanting to break up a collection" thing. I suppose we hope it's a fan rather than a reseller.

The thread with the most WD early pricing is here if anyone want to make some bets! https://forum.oldhammer.org/threads/white-dwarf-magazine-1-to-33-inclusive-advice-re-selling.39337/

EDIT
I note on the pricing thread there was a 1-100 set up for sale for £2000, the auction is showing £0 now so I expect it was sold outside ebay

For Issues #101 to #199 we're at £300 at present which puts them about £3 an issue so far. I'd not be surprised if it finishes (Wed 21:20 UTC) more around £500-600
Well just shy of £400, I'd say that was a damn fine deal for whoever won it, about £4 an issue.

For #1 - #100 we're at just shy of £1600, very curious where this ends up. Finishes Wed 21:30 UTC.
£3370, more than I thought it might go for as a full bundle, but they did look to be in good condition.

I can kinda see why people pay more for earlier issues but... the early ones aren't... that useful.. didn't really have model making stuff, or comics. While I like it when it had a mixture of stuff, and not just Citadel, the main things which are probably still of major use these days are DnD or ADnD articles. Really starts to get into a nice point around the 30s and I kinda start to drift off after 150 till 180 then.

yet the ones which go for the most are the first 20 or so.. can't just be cause they are rarer.. there are tons of rare stuff which isn't worth alot... but oh well.. scalpers market ^_^ so kinda good some are starting to get more reasonable for people that really want them.

I'm missing something, but it seems to me that such a price would be justified if these first 100 issues of the magazine were in cellophane and no one touched them. then they would have collector's value. They are free and legal at archive.org, and first issues a bit. empty?
OTOH 100-199. they are great and £400-700 is a good price I think.

I agree for me the first 30-50 don’t really interest me.

they 100% are NOT legal and free on archive.org and a number have been taken down when ever GW finds out.

White Dwarf is a copyrighted magazine and GW have NEVER relinquished that copyright. It'll be out of copyright and 'legal and free' a minimum of 70 years after publication date, mostly.

It is one reason this forum doesn't like or point towards pirated copies of stuff like that. Extracts are fine under far use, but White Dwarf is copyrighted and GW are well known to protect their copyrights. Every once in a while they notice someone misusing archive.org and have to take action, which really screws up Archive.org since they are a non-profit and it basically ends up costing them.

there are also a number of other issues with the collectors value being on cellophane.. no.. seriously, no... then you get them gits that think slabbing increases value.. well, it does for the companies which screw people over by doing it.

my bad. For some reason I thought that the archive monitors such things and cleans them up. I'll try not to post further unless I'm 100 percent sure.

^_^ no problem, just pointing it out. Sadly, there admin aren't as great as they should be.. I kinda hope they don't pay the google card on that (where they claim it's too large for them to moderate stuff, so they shouldn't have to deal with illegal content... so they 'automate' it with poorly written code and thieves claiming copyright and getting money from content they have stolen)...
