is McDeath really worth that much or is it orcs drift driving it up? I think I might like those floorpans - will probably never use them but its all things I lost over the years. I have a fantasy of playing WHFRP seriously if I ever get to retireA seller with some nice bits (not someone I've bought from before)
I'd been tempted by the scenarios, but when they were £100 for the two it was rather nice, but now they are getting on for their normal prices I'm less keen. Lovely looking copies however. Ending today at 2300.

I did take a quick punt on the WFRP collection last night, but was outbidNot that I needed them (I have it all in various content), but there were some editions in there I didn't have. Still someone got a bargain given the normal cost of the books individually.

Whilst some of the rest is tempting I think I'll be good!

my god I have three copies of the hardback maybe I can retireWhere Ebay leads, Oxfam follows. A continuing study of pricey charity reselling. 1st ed RT or reprint?
I might have to rewrite my will so that mine is buried with me, like the kings of old with their treasures.my god I have three copies of the hardback maybe I can retire
Be a dear and make sure you're vacuum-packed separately, for when the grave robbers/night hawks come for any of yer oldhammer archeology.I might have to rewrite my will so that mine is buried with me, like the kings of old with their treasures.
Both, I think, and as they're boxed & look in good nick. So much is getting split and sold separate nowadays, army rosters, card cutouts, rule books etcis McDeath really worth that much or is it orcs drift driving it up?
I think the prices are a bit delusional for a book that is (sort of) still in print. The hardback Louise Sugden helped reproduce was £40 last time I checked.make sure you're vacuum-packed separately
Yep, which makes me think is it speculative investment via 'deep pockets', a genuine buyer/collector or something entirely different? I mean it's a lot of dough to be left up on shelf or glass cabinet. Why not wait for something to crop up later. But then ppl/magpies collect all sorts...I think the prices are a bit delusional for a book that is (sort of) still in print. The hardback Louise Sugden helped reproduce was £40 last time I checked.
That Oxfam sale is just daft. The original RT books are slightly nicer - the printing in the scanned and republished copy isn't quite as nice I think, although Louise did a great job of cleaning it up and producing it. I think they might still sell copies at Warhammer World, but it was only the RoC ones there when I was last there for Bootleg BOYL. The originals can still be picked up for £30-60 more typically if you wait around for an auction and can cope with perhaps a little bit of spine repair, etc.I think the prices are a bit delusional for a book that is (sort of) still in print. I've said before, I suspect long term most of the market for this stuff will die off as, well, ahem, we die off. That's not to say it'll go (plenty of people buy antiques and they can be worth plenty), but I doubt things really won't attract the prices they do at the moment. I'm sure the market for later editions is warming up right now as those people get to a point where they maybe have spare money to spend on toys of their youth. Still that is myself speculating on their speculation!Yep, which makes me think is it speculative investment
The softback is the edition I have. It fixes some errata. But not £150 worth. Mine is perhaps devalued because it doesn't have a Garfield sticker. That Oxfam sale is just daft. The original RT books are slightly nicer
Rogue Trader was made-to-order for £40 relatively recently. They can't be hard to pick up.I think they might still sell copies at Warhammer World
Yes. I think stuff is coming out of the lofts and garages now, in 'readiness' for want of a better word. Priority change? Maybe stuff left at elderly relatives (rediscovered stuff?), or by family who don't have the space anymore (or those who have shuffled off this mortal coil) and it's been cleared out? We can only speculate....I suspect long term most of the market for this stuff will die off as, well, ahem, we die off...
Agree totally, Eric, seems a relatively recent 'thing' this explosion in prices on WHFB especially. 1e ruleset boxed, forces of fantasy, and individual parts of the box sets sold separately have rocketed in just last, say, 18months. 2e and 3e also... Was some cheap stuff in charity shops, now exploding...I'm sure the market for later editions is warming up...
And entombed at the end of an appropriately themed dungeon complete with minions. Although do make sure all the doorways and spiked pits are built to disability-access standards for the bunch of old gits who'll be questing for the loot.Be a dear and make sure you're vacuum-packed separately, for when the grave robbers/night hawks come for any of yer oldhammer archeology.![]()
