Has it really cost you though? Just because someone else bid on it doesn't mean that it was one of us. With all the snipping on eBay, it can look like a good deal that no one knows about and then with 1 second left 12 people who had been watching it the whole time finally bid and the price skyrockets. So unless it was one of us that wins it, you've probably only benefited
