Dwarfs

Hahah those are great! They seem pretty chill about their predicament. Or maybe just busy pondering where to catch their next fly?
What role are you planning for them in your army? And who makes these lovely models? They would work a treat as alternative toads in Talisman...

There's from the Oldhammer Trading Page on Facebook, but they're also on the guys Etsy store:

You can see in the group pic how uneven the bases are. There's a few casting bubbles in the plumes, and one of the plumes - the red one, arrived broken.
But they are wonderful models!

Thanks for the link. Seems like I wasn't too far off as toads are even mentioned to be inspired for Talisman.
Some other pretty sweet miniatures there, especially that dreg rat catcher looks neat and it's even metal. Sadly prices for their metal miniatures are not exactly competitive.

One more dwarf, which should make 10 more. Got five more to go, but they might be a while!

Funny story, that. My other half amazingly brought me the cabinet as a present, but then I wasn't 'allowed' it in the house it had to sit in the lockup. We've recently moved to a larger home, so now it sits nicely in a corner next to the bookshelf

Lovely looking band of dwarfs. Super jealous of the Harrig the Wise model and lovely paint job on him. Never was a fan of the Marauder dwarf range but the paint job really helps tie them in with the Perry dwarfs.

Catching up on threads. Wow, love these. The bright colours are awesome. They looked kbso good all ranked up.

Frogs rock ... Tempting so tempting.

Seeing some of the old *bright" minis at Foundry this year made me realise just how much I like the style.

Beautiful stuff. Love the group shot and (unintentional?) setting of minis made me chuckle, as it looks like dwarf on second row is carefully listening how Gimli on third row is about to whack an axe to his head. Some old score about to be settled, surely.

So a crazy Thing happened where some friends and I decided to do a Challenge, which was to paint a whole Necomunda gang in a day. Old models count (naturally), so minimum 8 models.
You can prep, base, and prime beforehand.
We set a start of 0830, and a finish time of 1930 (cos the takeaway pizza place closed at 8pm).

Here's how we got on - I'll type out the writing for the context and future memories

Dai and Joe both had their models separate to the bases.
Dai's are made with bark.

The dragonfly was big, and bit noisy - fighting with old cobwebs
The crack is plastic
Smells are oil washes and turps
Painting phase is the podcast. One of the earlier ones with Peachy, as they're the best
Tom cheats, is me painting a touch up on a base rim
Dai collects the pizza as we are both still doing some touch ups
Glamour shots are the models painted up to 1930

We all went a bit mad. After turning the plug switch off to my painting lamp, I was confused as to why my painting lamp wouldn't switch on a minute after.

1 change of paint water for me. No one else changed theirs.

Literally the most I've ever sat in one place, and probably the most I've ever concentrated on one thing for the longest time.

I would probably have a much bigger palette, as I kept either running out of room or muddying up colours. I would have liked to have done a test model before the challenge to get the colors and application order a bit more 'locked in'

I painted colours on my bases the morning after.

Starting pic.

I'm going to post this one as it's just me - I'm unsure if anyone else wants their image up on here...
