Ok, tallied up the army, 92 painted, 212 unpainted… 🫣

I started this project with 45 unpainted dwarfs… 🤣

These are brilliant mate. Reminds me of the late great Wayne England dwarf army from White Dwarf 135.

Will have to build up a coherent force to oppose them so I can restart our feud from the early 90s. I've still got pretty much all of my old Wood Elf army, wouldn't take much in the way of insults to get the two kicking lumps out of each other.

I think that army has a pretty big inspiration! Would be great to meet up next time I am down visiting my folks!

Let me tell you a story about a German fella I know that back in the '90s vowed to collect every Dwarf that Citadel had ever released …

It was a glorious, and mad, project. I forget how many individual sculpts there were, but IIRC it was in the five or six hundred figures ballpark.

Gave the clans people a good old wash! They are scrubbing up quite nicely! 😅

Hoping the rain stops over the weekend so I can spray prime their shields (and the ratty lad!).

So good. I do envy people who've mastered the art of batch painting, something I've never been any good at.

Just a case of loads of little steps I think? The zenithal, contrast, wash & drybrush technique does alot of heavy lifting. I am not that great at the more traditional layers and managed highlights method.

Wayne England's Dwarf army was surprising because it deviated from my expectations about what dwarfs were. Simultaneously striking but grounded blues & whites.

Gave the clans people a good old wash! They are scrubbing up quite nicely! 😅

I do like your dwarfs & the mix of sculpts.

The unit is completed!



Will give them a banner when I manage to get hold of a suitable decal sheet! I envisage them being members of the brewery, working as coopers.
