Dwarf Army - for BOYL, TOW and beyond - progress reports

Little more progress, browns and some Pale Sand to cover some mistake and lighten up the black prime that was insufficiently hit by the white zenithal spray.

Another closely fought battle at Powder Monkey Games, this time against a force of the undead lead by an ancient vampire and necromancer. Their shambling undead played the defensive and fortunately their magic rarely penetrated. My slayers charged up the board, but only smashed a unit and ghouls. My Runesmith made his debut and aided the unit of Quarrellers who fought off ghouls, direwolfs and monstrous bats! Zamuel Bugman lead his rangers up the board too, but the strength of the skeleton horde was too much and they were pushed back and whittled away by magic in the final turn. A close loss, but made up by the addition of a defector from Thain Gruu‘s army (perhaps he prefers our brewing!?). ;)

Few more colours laid down, also joined by a few other stunties who will comprise my BOYL-heim ranger warband.

Been a hectic week at work which has hampered progress and energy levels… but plan to make more progress in the morning

ah, of course. Just really reminds me of one I thought they did ^_^ which I thought I had.. well, not surprise they did a look-a-like ^_^

This evening’s TOW battle was against some sneaky Dark Elves! They were mainly on mounts and had dragged a monstrous sea kreature with them.
The battle started well, it seems Bugman’s have recovered from their hangover and almost took out an entire unit of elf crossbowmen in the first fire! Unfortunately it went downhill from there… My cannon misfired and blew itself up. Zamuel Bugman was too buoyed up with foul Warpstone and charged into battle with the kraken and was stomped to death. His Rangers attempted to rescue the head brewer, but were equally pummelled. The angry slayers charged up the battlefield and slew a number of cold one riders, but were unable to catch the cowardly unit as it retreated. The newly recruited Imperial hammer bearers were no match against the Elf general charging them in his chariot (remember to pack your shields next time lads rather than polish your fancy hats!).
Leaderless the wise Runesmith decided to concede defeat having been pincered atop a hillock leading the remaining quallerers…
