I evolved the bases is bit since writing that tutorial (plan to update it sooner or later). I added a last step to the sculpting: I apply PVA glue to the base at various "joints" to make smooth transition to e.g. the skulls. I also paint them without the greens (Nurgling Green & Krieg Khaki) and do longer transitions getter a smoother look. Keep also more of base base colors visable givning it a more organge than bone color to it.

An update to one of the cavalry minis. It was a quite poor and lazy conversion that I didn't like (original: http://realmofcitadel.blogspot.se/2013/08/nurgle-warband-update-cavalry-nr-4.html). Just a claw attached to the side of the rider.

The new conversion work a lot better with a bunch of tentacles coming out of his lower back (ASS) and following his flowing mantle. Also kept the painting is a similar light pastel look.

The components are an Undead Cavalry horse and a solid base C33 Mounted Adventurer Rider (the Rogue) and tentacles from the plastic Chaos spawn kit (all Citadel).

The Minotaur Lord is now finished.

It will be the leader of the first Beast/Beastmen unit. This is a really great sculpt (nice change to a lot of other stuff I paint) and was pure joy to paint. The size and weight was a bit tricky though. More used to the "standard size" stuff.

I tweaked the position of the body and head a bit to give it a more charging appearance.

I'm especially happy with the back (second photo) where the colors and definitions really worked out better than expected.

I think I've seen the others but tha tfoxman... :shock: Just full of grace and charm. It is absolutely wonderful with just the unearthly look. Just brilliant. I'm used to liking your models but this one is truly one of my favourite.

The Foxman has such an unearthly grace about it, the colours are sublime, great job Hans :grin:

Superb work, you are always my favourite Chaos Beastman painter, I recently picked up Fox Priest and may have to fast track it to the front of the paint queue now :)
 
This is one of the earlier trolls from Citadel. Originally released in 1981 as part of the Fantasy Tribe series - FTT. This one being FFT1. A few years later as the first C20 trolls.

Added a piece of bone of the end of the club.

On the base you can also see an old Asgard miniature. The FM80 Centipede from the Fantasy Monsters series.

I love the old troll models,they have great character. I can't wait to eventually get to paint one. This one looks amazing
 
That chaos warrior has always been one of my favorites. I love the colors you've used on him and I love that banner.
