Darkblade's Quest

Hi,

I've been meaning to post here for a while after being prompted by the likes of Ardyer.
I'm primarily a collector and painter of old metal Dwarfs and Dark Elves (Citadel & Marauder)and have been doing that since the early nineties. Both collections are almost complete, the Dwarf collection is currently being painted and updated on a my BLOG http://db-dwarf-quest.blogspot.co.uk/. The plan is to do a similar BLOG or website for the Dark Elf collection, I'll get around to it some day.

Enough of the blah, let's skip to the good bit.. I hope you like them.

First up Imperial Dwarfs, inspired by Wayne England's article in White Dwarf 135.

Norse Dwarfs

Prince Ulther's Dragon Company

Bugman's Dwarf Rangers

Marauder MM16 Crossbows

Marauder/Citadel Thunderers

Newer edition Bugman's Rangers/Brewers

Marauder MM16 Longbeards

Marauder MM16 Hammerers.

Marauder MM16 Ironbreakers

Citadel ME33 Dwarfs

Mix of Marauder Troll Slayers / Citadel Berserkers

At the moment I'm nearing completion of a fourth unit of Imperial Dwarfs and have also got a unit of Marauder MM10/15 Clansmen on the go.

After that I need to work on the rest of the still growing pile of lead.

Cheers,

Db

Really super dwarfs - lovely painting across the piece. I have a particular fondness for the Thunderer models, and your unit is beautiful. I look forward to seeing the dark elves!

Love them. Look forward to seeing your Dark elves.

The blue/white halves was a Wayne England thing yeah?

Well that's a start ! Those dwarves look splendid. Definitely remoind of Wayne England's but even better (smotther blendings and less blacklining). Some glods are a tad too "yellow" to my liking but the overall look and the colours used are gorgeous. Top job here.

Oh great....DB is here... to make me feel like a slacker!

Great to see you made the trip over from Bugman's Brewery...I hope you didn't drive after that many stouts!!!

Cheers,

Blue

PS...DB has THE best collection of classic painted dwarfs I have ever seen...plus he is a damn nice guy!

Great job ! :) I love the idea of the limited edition vignette inside each units ! My favorite : Prince Ulther's imperial dwarf

Tons of old minis, cool color scheme (blue/white is IMHO one of the best for dwarves) and very good painting....
It's just an awesome army, man !

If you can, just post a pic or two of the whole army (maybe on a battlefied), and it will be perfect !

Wow, thanks everyone for the warm welcome and your very kind words, as I've said before over at the brewery, it's comments like this that keep me motivated to get the job done, thank you all.

For those that weren't aware of Wayne England...

It was indeed a classic colour scheme.

Next up the start of the Dark Elves...

Marauder MM73 Scouts

Marauder MM73 Assassins

...and the first ever set I bought, MB3 Dark Elf Regiment

Cheers,

DB

Wow jaw dropping Dark Elves... So glad I'd just bought mine last month or I'd run to ebay right now and get a few dozen heh

Cheers lads, hopefully it won't be too long until I get some more done.

I need to finish off a 4th unit of Imperials before doing an army shot.

Then I can crack on with some MM70 Dark Elf Warriors.

Cheers,

DB

Great work - I also like the movement tray with ruins on them, are they scratch built or bought?
