CVB's Heroquest/Dungeon Crawl

I am absolutely in favour of the boobs section! I'm sure I'll have a dew entrants.

Speaking of which - I have a diorama in mind that requires that exact same nude model, and other slave girls.

Anyone point me in the right direction?

@CVB : I am so glad to see this one with a new paint job. the face and expression are absolutely gorgeous and the whole colour scheme is looking good.

Just a reminder of what he looked like before :

2013-08-11+21.42.23.jpg

Painting was done using Humbrol enamels (like God Fraser) and when I came to painting the red areas, I shook th ered pot with holding it correctly. It opened while shaking was occurring and the whole paint flew in my direction and in the direction of my face to be more precise. I screamed like pig and ran to my parents. My dad face palmed (he had understood) and my mom fainted (she had not). The rest is even better but a long story so bottom line is I was taken in emergency servoice because everyone thought I had a burst eye... the doctor lauged like a maniac when I told him what happened and hopefully he was a hobbyist too and knew how to remove the paint from my eye with EDTA.

I love how this mini has such a backstory, I'll have to work "eye burster" into his background if he gets used in a game...maybe that's the name of his blade.

Now from the "I wanna be like Mike" (MçVey)/Delusions of Grandeur files comes this Advanced Heroquest Wizard

Another Foundry Amazon, this one's going to a very nice chap in New Zealand who saw my Heroquest shenanigans over on Warseer and sent me a dozen or so HQ minis for nought.
Top bloke!

Good job on Burlock there - is he wearing an Ork skin glove? :)
Even worse, he's sooo hardcore he's wearing an orc hand 8-)

Lovely PJ Bruno, I actually love hime more with your greyish beard than the black one he had in the 'eavy metal pages (far too reminiscent of big hats).

I havent seen this thread for a while, but its has come along nicely. Col stuff CVB!

I wish one of my mates took the trouble to paint a Heroquest set. I painted a Descent set very quickly a few years ago, but fantasy isnt really my thing so I sold it on. I would still definitely enjoy showing up at someones house for a fully painted and prepped game of Heroquest though.

My favourite so far is blonde Kris Kristofferson the AHQ wizard ;)

Cheers guys, I based him off of the Eavy Metal from #166 as best I could- good call on the Orc skin glove and Ork power glove respectively.
I'm not entirely happy with the magma or whatever you want to call the stuff on his hammer is, but that'll do.
I have Kragg the Grim and King Kazador to do as well as the 90's Bugman and his Rangers.

That's a great call on the Kris Kristofferson Wizard Cheetor
Besides HQ basically being responsible for starting me down the dark path, I've traditionally leant towards 40K myself, mostly because as a kid I didn't have the $ to invest in an army for both systems so stuck to one and built on that.
This project is great because I of the freedom, I can paint one Elf or what have you without having to do a whole bloody unit of them and it keeps things nice and fresh.
It's really made me appreciate the earlier Citadel Fantasy ranges too.

I really love the ole HQ models - heck, they contribute most of my orc and gobbo armies (along with Battlemasters).

I guess I should post some pics, seeing as I painted all the models before I even played the game!

Hey, I like those Gargoyle gates!
It's been discussed around here before, but I wish I had more of my badly painted stuff from back in the day and I think a lot of us enjoy seeing other people's attempts and the often amusing anecdotes that go along with them :)
You should post some of those in the "childhood paintjobs" thread in painting and modelling.

The Barbarian, Dwarf and Elf from Heroquest are very nice minis in my opinion- perhaps sentiment is creeping in here but I also think both the loyalist and particularly traitor marines from Space Crusade are quite nice too.

Bluey, it's like you snuck into my room and pilfered my old Heroquest models, our paint-work is uncannily similar from that era!! Except for your fimir, which just aren't 'olive drab' enough ;) I too like those gargoyle gates, it's inspired me to do.... well, something. Probably.

Thanks guys.

Um, Crooks, I swear, I have never been into your room. And I only steal things of no worth to turn them into things of artistic value (I hope).

If you don't believe me, I'm updating a lot of my blog at the moment. If you look at the Sculpey blog you'll get a laugh.... or maybe a few winces.

Count - If you peruse the Brutal paintjobs of the 80s post, you will see my very firsts.

Don't worry, I believe you, no one could enter that room and survive to tell the tale (well, not my half of it anyway ;) ).

He is naked under that Tshirt, you know.

And just for that, I'm gonna call him "Boner"

Also- I'm not sure which Pantera song you mean.
