Seeing all the amazing Heroquest stuff posted around here has made me bite the bullet and return to where for me it all began, Heroquest.

Ive ordered a heap of stuff, including the main game and a couple of supplements...these two barbarians have been the first arrivals and Ive been fervishly painting

The female is "Sasha the Sword" from Mannequin miniatures, but obviously it's really Conan and Valeria ;)

I have lots of goodies on the way, including the main game and some supplements.

Here is a Hasslefree Nubile that I had lying around and have painted up in my all around enthusiasm for all things Barbarian related :grin:

Excellent ! can't wait to see the rest coming, the barbarian is really tough (even though the smith left a mouldline on the shoulderpad ;)) and both he and his girlfrined look good. The babe is really nice too and I can see the time you've spent on blending very carefully the tones on her delicate skin, you naughty you. Very subtile and gracious, love it. You wizard is waiting in dettol to get stripped and come play on the board.
 
Boobs boobs boobs boobs...ahem..sorry. Looking good all the HQ stuff must of hurt your wallet :(

A-Man: believe it or not I never saw that bloody mould line until you pointed it out :lol: Talk about not seeing the forest for the trees!

Chico: I got the main game, kellar's keep and the witch king complete all in one lot on ebay for $110 AUS (though it hasn't arrived yet)-a pretty good deal I reckon.

Both: every dungeon needs gratuitous boobies!
 
I got you, don't worry :lol:

I ordered some Valkyries (among other things) from Foundry, there is a strong likelihood of more boobies in the not so distant future.

Serious question though : Why did you keep green bases for dungeon crawling models? (I'm asking the question when i'm actually doing the same with my own adventurers :? )
 
I really thought hard about giving them gravel/grey bases, really I did...force of habit?

That's probably the most honest answer...

I gave my space crusade minis the same scheme too, I think (okay, I know) I have problems :?
 
Actually, it may be a common problem, It took me a lot of energy and will power not to base my Rogue trader Traitor marines like my warhammer army, I had to beat myself to not painting the edges black like I've been doing for 20 years.
They say old habits die hard...
Maybe since this is just a big multiverse, basing everything the same way makes sense in a way? :? :roll:
 
CVB what you really need is some WhFB Orcs to paint green to keep you happy then you can base in different colours ;)

I have reviewed my base colour as it happens, not being 100% happy with the goblin green myself.

My copy of HQ arrived on Friday, and here is the first mini to come out of the Dettol and receive a second life

Regarding bases, I paint all my minis (within a setting) the same. All for the sake of re-use. I won't paint up a gazillion crummy plastics for my Hero Quest if I can't re-use them with my other uniformly based fantasy models in skirmish games.

Why don't you use square WHFB bases instead, CVB? Rank up those skellingtons and get yourself a nice start on a unit of reapers. =)
 
You make a good case phreedh...but I don't want to start down the slippery slope of starting a "small" undead army, which will inevitably turn into a large undead army :lol:

I do have a rather large WHFB army of Night Goblins and Trolls that remains largely unpainted, I'd best leave it at that.

I was going to leave the monsters on the "bases" they came with, but I can't bloody help myself and have debased several orcs and gobbos already :?
 
Bruno, I've just realised that as soon as I saw this last barbarian, Conan's OST poped up into my head, this only mean one thing : WIN

Being a bit of a fan of Conan myself, that's exactly what I love about these minis.
Eventually this thread will see the archer Subotai and several "Mrs Conans" make an appearance ;)

I have managed to get myself one of your Snakemen for a reasonable price too, for Set related badness.
 
I hadn't even given the second movie a thought...any ideas for a mini for Zula?

And to this day I've never seen Red Sonja besides scenes here and there :cry:
