Chico's 6mm goodness

So as the Epic run up and arms race begins between members of this forum (You know who you are, evil evil members) for the Oldhammer Weekend I've might as well post it here for you enjoy/ignore lol

Now my plan is make 1 of each of the 6 Clans and a Kult of Speed plus Support cards and Gargants (Who can say no too a Mega Gargant).

My first lot of Orks turned up today so I'm busy rebasing them on too 2p's as it looks rather nice and gives the little un's some weight. Expect pictures later tonight or tomorrow of the start of my first Clan Card whih will be Evil Suns.

Evil Sun Card is the following:

6 Nobz stands, 15 Boyz stands and 6 Battlewagons.

Now as I don't have any nobz yet...(Add joke here) I'll make a start on the Boyz and Wagonz then depending on what comes in the post next and how quick I'll see what I'll do next.

I done did some a while back. I did "scenic" setups for the biys units. THe best model for the infantry was the jump pack guys. So cool. I have one on the gargant, but you cant see him

Looking nice Chico! That rebasing looks like a faff, but the results are great. Did you factor in a stack of 2ps into your budget?

I been hoarding 2p's for the last week lol, and the rebasing is a pain in the butt lol re-based 7 stands in 2 hours lol.. Oh well least my other Orks are coming loose hehe.

Finished off a few more and finished the bases (Always wait till I get a large group of figures finished before finishing the bases)

I'll take better pictures in the morning as the boys they don't look as shiny

Simply love them. I'm totally lost about this game now, as I haven't played for more than one and a half decade or so and I've forgotten the vey basics of it. The... 98? version used long bases instead of the square ones. Now that I see round ones (not only here but other pals on the internet) I recall there is an Epic community somewhere with an updated version of the rules or something, am I right? Are round/square/whatever bases an issue for playing?

The new rules are called NetEpic it's Space Marine V2 updated with new armies. And as far as I can see there is no issues with bases, I've read a few Epic tournament reviews and even they allow any basing type from 2ps to Flames of War.

Yes. I tried some of the old editon many years ago, but dint much get into it. Armageddon is the best GW game in my opinion, most balanced.

The best thing for clipping epic infantry from their bases imo are curved nail scissors to cut around the base then cut the bottom of the figure base from the remains with a sharp knife. I rebased three armies in a couple of days with a pair of those. It's tedious so best get it out of the way as quickly as you can! EpicA specifically states in the rules that bases don't matter. They only make a *slight* difference in SMv1 and v2 due to how close combat works but it's easy to work around.

I do love a bit of Epic. Adeptus Titanicus was my first GW game and frankly I have difficulty relating to anyone who doesnt appreciate giant robots hitting each other.

Your orks look great Chico. I had a lot of fun with my old Epic orks (and Eldar) in every incarnation of the rules. I started a rebasing thing on a few of them, but its a distressingly large job, so I will leave them on their green bases forever I think. I must take some photos of those old guys.

THe best model for the infantry was the jump pack guys.

Those Blood Axes & Stormboys are great Saw those when you posted them on LAF alittle while ago.

4 more stands of Evil Suns done, not worth a picture though as they are rather plain. Converted up a Evil Sun Nobz Wagon with some FW bits. Might start on my Snakebite Clan support card next.. 3 Squigoths which I picked up dirt cheap on ebay for £2

Yeah the bases aren't an issue. My Dark Angels are on the newer long bases whilst my Flesh Tearers are on the traditional square once. It makes little difference in SM2 tbh! I really want to give this 2p thing a try thanks to Chicos awesome looking stuff!!

Maybe a Xenos force like Squats? or Chaos.. Ohhh Chaos Squats are taken though I want a unit of Chaos Squat Allies for SM2 as there's no army restrictions that I can find.

Actually I do gave some spare chaos sprues....and I reckon they'd look good on round bases!!
