Face obscuring hoods are easy to sculpt form green stuff, two horns poking out of each hood and bobs your cheating uncle ;)

Good suggestion - but I'm still hoping to do it "properly" :?

If you are using hooded cultists as a base press mold just the snout of the goats head and have it poking out of the hood, then add your horns ( may end up using this method myself for lack of suitably;y sized goat heads).

I think I've decided to go with using chaos thugs (non-mutated) as a base rather than cultists. I was initially going to go red redemption but I didn't fancy having them all identical.

Alright gentlemen ! We're halfway through the challenge so I wanted to check how far we all were from completion !

Maybe the competitive ones won't want to reveal their plans (that's so not oldhammer :twisted: ) but here I am :

- all models preped (even if poorly) and based
- bases are painted on all models
- Skin painted on all 18 models which is a good thing considering it represents a major part of the models
- started working on robes and clothes (less than 10% done)
- will need to work on warmour and weapons then
- details in the end

I think completing the challenge in time is still feasible but the stadards have had to be lowered, especially on the preparation (which I deeply regret), in the end all I need is the 3 weeks to come to be calm and void of any unexpected event... :? :mrgreen:

Yet to do:
- Conversions
- Basing
- Undercoating
- Painting

I'm hoping to get them ready to paint on Sunday, when I have pretty much the whole day to work on them

Bless that ! I'm counting A LOT on the one week I have alone for easter holidays. Most of the job will (should?) be done then... I feel a bit relieved, I see I'm not the last for now. :grin:

I am counting on the holiday to get me over the line as I don't seem to be in the painting groove as of late. I have the Champion primed and her 4 gobbo followers converted with eye stalks. My colour schemes all sorted. I should be fine to finish this on time. Lucky I ended up with a small warband, just 5 models strong :grin:

Luckily I started quickly because for the past week my painting desk has been waiting for me!
I (with little pressure from my wife) actually started to scour, dye and revarnish the kitchen table and chairs.
So it will definitely be part of my entry in this challenge as "the surface for taking pictures" :grin: .

3 beastmen down , 1 to go , along with 4 slanns 5 cultists and my leader :cry: . It is gonna be hard making it.

Nope, my champion is a Cthulian rapist, your champions looks like the mascot for the fight against STDs...

No offence meant Chico, I must be the least well placed to talk about black paintshemes since both my chaos armies for WHFB and 40k are black and my eldars are from Ultwé :? :lol:

Just a quick warning ahead of time but due to recent work commitments I probably won't make the closing 18th of April date. I'll try but don't see it happening. I will complete the project so as not to completely disappoint. Not throwing in the towel just yet, a miracle may happen in which case I'll post the picture off on the 18th but wanted let you all know in advance how unlikely that is.

Well I don't see any of us making it (apart from those who got a 5 man band :roll: ). 2 more weeks would be good I have to say. Anyway, I'll just continue working like it's due for the 18th.

Personally I don't mind extending the deadline, but I wouldn't want to be unfair to anyone who has rushed to get it done on time. If every competitor Okies it, I'll extend it another two weeks.
