Ace use of a freebie and is he as fast of the mark as the "Goldenrod " that hung around Bonneville?
I had to look this up, but it seems unlikely...

On the painting front I've painted up a couple of odds and ends.

An old Necromunda Escher Heavy, she had sat unbuilt and unpainted for many years but I finally finished her up including having to reconstruct her miscast right foot.

And the 2nd Edition Adeptus Arbites Champion that I finally found for a reasonable price.

I'm still working on the remaining three members of the original Escher gang box (the first four were repainted a while back, somewhere near the beginning of this thread).

Till next time...

I've painted a variety of things in recent weeks.

The main ones are three more characters inspired by certain characters in that major Sci-Fi franchise...

The first is Olken Binobe, last survivor of the Mystic Knights of Deij (purged with extreme prejudice by the Imperial Inquisition).

His new apprentice, former inhabitant of a "Desert Planet", known to Hanz Ollo as the "Kid".

And the Contessa Elia von Olderon, leader of the failed rebellion on the world of Nova Spero and currently in need of rescue from the clutches of the Inquisition.

Finally the last few members of my old Escher gang box to go with the heavy from last time.

As always more pics and details on my blog.

Till next time...

Love your new adventurers! :) That's a really epic setup. I particularly love your Contessa Elia. And I'm glad I looked at the blog, and thus saved myself from some needless "What's that?" questions. Fan-frigging-tastic sir!

Over the Christmas period I've been getting some additional mini's painted.

The first one finished is Worldburner from the mercenaries range.

I painted him based on his appearance in the artwork on page 172 of the Rogue Trader rulebook.

Happy New Year to all.

Very nice. Not a miniature I'd properly clocked before, lovely model. I like the tiger stripe camo touch and the blue/brown works very nicely. I'm going to have to go and have a look at page 172 now!

Thanks guys.

Managed to squeeze in a few more before the end of the year.

A little mercenary outfit named the Broad Arrow Gang (hence the arrow emblem they all have on them somewhere).

Lots more individual pics and some background detail on all the members on my blog.

Till next time.

Fine looking bunch I like the pallette choice. Has the broad arrow any specific meaning? As a former watch collector in the world a broad arrow is found on MoD specified pilot watches.

Yes the Broad Arrow was a general War Office property mark found on all sorts of British military equipment through both world wars and before. The name is sort of a reference to that...

However mostly I chose it because of the little arrow modeled on shoulder of the guy in the middle, I often use a molded insignia on one model as the basis for painted symbols on other models in same group. There's an inquisitor earlier in the thread with a T symbol on his shoulder that I then painted on a couple of marines that accompany him.

It wouldn't surprise me.

Anyway managed to paint up a few Colony 87 minis from Crooked Dice.

I painted the first three up as the fancy took me, the last one will represent Grandee Tarkimov, administrator of a "deadly" imperial "space station" in my sci-fi film inspired scenario idea.

Till next time.

^A deadly imperial space station you say? Such a sunny sounding idea. :)

Colony 87 is always worth a go. I hope you get many great games out of them. They're some of my favorite miniatures. :) Lovely stuff!

Just painted up one of my all time favourite 40k minis.

Jes Goodwin's original Fire Dragon Exarch.

And with his buddies (painted a few years ago).

I painted the Exarch's helmet metallic to differentiate him more from the rank and file, but used copper to maintain a similar colour.

Till next time.

I've been continuing to paint Eldar.

Including a Ghost-Warrior.

And a repaint of one of my earlier Eldar to bring it inline with my newer models.

Till next time.
