Axiom's Miscellaneous Painted Stuff

I was wondering why the facebook miniatures looked so similar. I think I missed the beginning of the thread, which isn't too surprising with FB. That explains a lot. You took that guy a long long way. Came out very well.

Thanks guys! Yeah - the Aenur competition has thrown up some quite remarkable transformations. Hopefully there will be 15 or so by the deadline (midnight tonight).

My newest paint job was out of necessity - my poor two headed mutie Gron-Slom got eaten in last week's Inquisimunda game. I wanted to replace him with something more effective, so pulled out an old Citadel Rogue Trooper figure and made an Afriel strain trooper:

He's largely unmodified apart from the addition of baggier trousers, a sighting device on his helmet, and the aerial on his backpack. Eschewing the traditional blue skin for Rogue, Trooper Alpha-6 got a pale skin tone to represent his albinism.

I've just put the finishing touches to a test subject for a genestealer coven - a ratling hybrid.

He started life as this Citadel pre-slotta Halfling Oni:

And here's what he looked like after all the conversion work:

Hope you like him! More words and pictures over at my blog.

Best. Hybrid. Ever.
I wouldn't ever imagined a Ratling hybrid. And if I had thought of that I would have used a GW Ratling mini. Your creativity goes four or five steps ahead. Bravo!

Strong praise Suber, thanks!

I'm certainly very pleased with how he turned out. Glad you like him too :)

A new week, and something completely different! I've had this pair in a box for a while and finally decided to give them attention and paint them as Imperial Naval Officers. The guy on the left is a Black Tree Design figure from the Doctor Who range, while the guy on the left is the GW Fleet Officer from the Regimental Advisors set.

I decided that my Fleet Officers needed some guards / goons to order around, so did a little adaptation to a pair of the limited edition Cadians 'At Ease' by replacing their heads with some from Rogue Trader guardsmen.

I'm pretty pleased with the resulting Naval Armsmen:

As ever, more words and pictures over at my blog.

How a simple Headswap brings new school Miniatures back to the look of the Rogue Trader era... Surprising, but great :o

I might copy that, some day

Cheers both!

Copy away on the headswap - I think I've seen it done with plastic Cadians before, so I've plagiarised them myself ;)

You may have seen in the Rogue Quest thread over the last 12 weeks or so, I've been working on a paint along project with Asslessman to create 'Dungeon adventuring parties' for the 40k universe.

Here's a group shot of the initial 6 members (L-R: Astropath 'cleric', psyker 'magic user', squat 'rogue', 'paladin', Eldar 'bard' and 'barbarian')

Now the project has been completed, I figure I could post any new additions to this thread, so here we go with this guy who represents the fighter:

There is something about this one that makes it enormously RT-ish. Maybe the whole moustache-goggles-pointy hat, not sure, but I think it's one of my favourites!
