I whole heartedly agree with you guys (and thank you), the 2nd version though proves worthy for conversion :

Trish is capable of the best and worse and I'd say she wasn't at her max when working on the heads... :? just my opinion though

Love that Chaos knight with the slug body. He looks like he takes half a day to complete his charge. CHARRRGGEeee...zzz...zzz...zzz.... ;)

He has the Death Guard colour scheme on him also which can't be a bad thing on a Nurgle Champion.

You're not far from the concept, I wanted him to look like a maggot-champion halfway through his mutatioon into a fly champion (hence the weird sort of wings), after making slooooooow charges due to his body, he would be making ridiculously small leaps from place to place because of his atrophied wings... :twisted:

Ah yes, I did a version of it back in the day, shaped the body from a sponge soaked in PVA. I don't recall which unfortunate Champion had to forsake his legs for it. In any case, this monstrosity has long been lost to the wastes.

Now I think about it, I didn't show this one made in a hurry (2004 or something) to have a war altar. The rider is a mix of the nurgle mage on palanquin with the chest of a Khorne champion (and some plastic bits). The magc flames on the sword look like crap but these were my beginnings with green stuff other than for gap filling. Throne is just plastic card and plastic marauders bits.

Thanks a lot Paul, enjoy the snake men, I found painting mine absolutely delightful. 40mm bases help a lot to get enough room though some manage to get them on 25mm ones.

I picked one up myself (S'lararet Slintered Fang) for my Dungeon adventure thingy-ideally I want to paint him like a boa or the popular image you would have of a python but I fear it is going to be a daunting task!

Well scales are quite big on the belly side which makes it hard to paint these kind of patterns. Maybe doin it just on the back and leaving the belly with a clear colour can work. Giving them some dangerous snalkes skin pattern is greta I think, it's why I gave the leader the black/red pattern. If you want to go the easy way, why not choose the black mambo one? (it would be the start of a them in your band).

Hehe, there will be no band of Snakemen for me (err, honest :? )

I lucked out on the one I have as he was very cheap.
I have also thought of painting him like a taipan (a brown Aussie snake, deadliest in the world) which would be easy...the black and red fellow of yours is my favourite by the way.

Taipan seems great ! Whatever you come up with, I'm looking frorward to it, ther are not a lot of painted snakemen pics around so any more is welcome.

Yes I know Steve, I know there is no excuse for this but let me say that I got these 3 dragon-ogres a looong time ago and therefore didn't consider as precious as I do now until I seriously got into the proto-oldhammer business in 2004-ish. But the damage was done already, hence my will to repare what can be repaired...
Now you know the sordid truth though it shall not be an excuse to you all... :? :oops: :cry:
