Finally got back to modelling/painting/weathering the prison camp. I think I'm calling this just about done. I might add the odd extra little bit, but I think it will do as a backdrop. So far it has four inhabitants! (five I guess if you count the tunnel nurgling I added)

Will do some proper photos when I eventually get my camera out again to show off the contributions so far. Hopefully it's in the spirit of the old dioramas (although not in McVey's league!) where is sorta makes sense, but not too much sense! It's been quite good fun building it and using up a few odds and ends.

@dazza36 just wanted to check if you'd sent over your mini, not had any new arrivals and I wasn't sure if I should start to worry!
Will be posting along with other stuff start of next week.

So I had the camera out today to take a few photos of finished miniatures and thought I should do some of the lovely models sat in one of my cabinets that have been sent to me for collation for this year's Legacy Crew. So over the next day or two I'll post what I have so far. I think @symphonicpoet was planning to do the draw at the new year so you've got a little time to finish up a few more! I've probably got a couple of plastic imperial guard ebay jobs that I won't be using if anyone needs a prisoner or something to paint! Although they would need some TLC as they are "enthusiastically converted" :)

Anyhow without further ado lets start with @Geroak II who produced this total classic of an ork. The minute brush strokes are awesome - it's like tiny stitching - amazing brush control for a really unique look.

Everything is good! My camp is by no means perfect - especially given I managed to splatter the background (which I did cheat on and had printed) with some ink when adding some weathering! I look forward to seeing your squat join the ranks for digging duty!

Next up we have a cool guard from @twisted moon. I think my favourite thing about this one are the colours. I'd have painted that uniform one drab colour and may, just maybe if I'd thought to do a camouflage scheme I might have added one more colour. I'd not have thought to add the bright contrasting red that makes the model pop. Similar with the gold on the visor. One reason I love seeing everyone else's work here - ideas! I also keep meaning to ask where the mini is from as they would make excellent old school Imperial Guard proxies.

Lovely to see alternative pics of entries and such a nice idea to show them this way.
But oh boy, looking at that ork of mine... I really dislike the 'slimy' looking effect varnish left on it. :|

^I don't think he looks bad at all. And I'm going to love the idea of him and the commissar being on the same team. (The same villainous team, of course.) :)

And today we have another lovely ork. This brilliant grunt from @dazza36. Look at those awesome goggles and the colour detailing on the lips and knuckles. Lovely work. And when will I remember to put some colour on my weapons like everyone else does! :)

And up next we have this hot mess of a prison camp! So my own offering is the bit the models can sit in. Hopefully channeling the vibes of the old case displays a bit! Generally happy with it, bit annoyed I splattered the sky with some ink at one point, but you don't really see it at ams length at least! If that bothers whoever ends up winning it the background was just a print from Amazon so you could replace it easily enough. I tried not to put too much detail in and left things like the trapdoor just glued on one edge so if you want you could gently break it and have it flat for another model, etc. I've hopefully left enough room for models to be arranged reasonably. I took the glass out of the frame for the photo, but there is a pane to keep the dust out.

Bit of a big image I'm afraid, but I thought I shouldn't hide too much behind a small image since I unkindly blew everyone else's models up to huge sizes :)

i can't claim to have been too innovative - red is part of this years colour scheme: https://forum.oldhammer.org/threads/2024-legacy-spot-color-poll.37419/

Yep they were from some resin casts I did in Hirst Arts molds years ago and have had sat in a box needing a home. I suspect I'd thought much the same having always had a passion for 3D space hulks (after seeing the one at Games Day '92 - I think it was). I have other designs these days I must get onto at some point!
