They were published in White Dwarf 75, when it was released:

Although they were for 2nd Edition, they pretty much port directly into 3rd, we certainly played it like that anyway.

Way back when, we had a big battle at the Foundry before it moved from Nottingham to Newark, and someone (Steve/Thantsants!) brought a Zombie Dragon. He used it with the WD rules and my recollection is that the rules were broken and that it was pretty much invincible and ridiculously overpowered. Not that it mattered too much in a game with tens of thousands of points on either side. But it could be a very bad thing in a smaller game.

I mean, it's 1000pts, if it wasn't a flying death machine I'd be annoyed. I don't think we ever used it in a game of less than about 6k pts a side, so there was always something on the other side that could take it out. In a 3k game it'd just stomp everything.
