Lovely. That makes a lot more sense to me than the potentially flexible, but in reality awful separate arms and weapons approach taken originally.
I dont know how feasible it would be, but there is surely some sort of market for the same sort of deal for old Imperial Guard, Orks and Eldar Guardians. I doubt that anyone would be set up for life from sales or anything, but I know that I would pick up a few for sure.
