Who makes RT-esque civilians?

axiom

Baron
Right then folks, having tapped into the excellent Spacelords range (available from EM4 miniatures), I'm looking for some help on some suggestions for similarly Rogue Trader compatible civilians.

By compatible, I mean both scale (must scale well with RT figures) and design (must look like they belong in Rogue Trader; i.e. that great 1980s sci-fi look). Near future, steampunk or moderns are probably not going to press the right buttons for me.

By civilians I mean non-military types - traders, seers, nobles, scum...all are welcome! Guns are OK in some contexts (sidearms, bodyguards etc), but I don't really want any figures waving powered weapons or blasting away.

I've just had a fairly fruitless google search; I'm sure I must be missing some good stuff though :)

Cheers!

Zombie Smith has some Aliens. I think lot of them would fit in great with the right paint job.

Can't think of any useful range but with all the late interest I suggest we should do a stickied recap of RT proxies and compatible donors.

Not on th echeap side but you can get some good models here ;

I know the T&A aspect of some is not to everyone's liking BUT :

I love a good tech priest as any other guy :

Or a good robot when I see one :

and I'm sure the depths of the underhive are familiar with taht sort of guys :

Or just tell me this guy is not the kind of guy any good rogue trader would send first to open the doors of a space hulk (or weld them shot when he leaves...

Proper sci-fi civilians are thin on the ground to be honest.

The Cobalt range is phenomenal, but the figures are quite large. The noble shown in the image above is very big in comparison with Spacelords. I am fine with mixing the two ranges myself (I treat elements of my own miniature scale compatibility decisions similarly to how John Blanche treats perspective in his paintings...) but going by your request at the top of the thread axiom, you may not.

Ill try to get some quick comparison shots taken later if I can and you can see what you think.

True, the Cobalt range is quite large and the Spacelords range is a bit on the small side, but just make sure to have a medium sized dude standing in between them

Anyway, filing down the bases on the Cobalt miniatures also help some of the way. He is big, but not too much for a Fat Ass trader.

Basing the Spacelords models and filing off the integral base of the Cobalt miniatures before basing really go a long way.

Very helpful! The Cobalt stuff looks large but manageable!

Thanks for all the suggestions so far :)

However, Cheetor told me that apparently someone else has bought the masters, but I have no further information.

I am really interested in any kind of RT-esque civilians, I'll share whatever I find over the internet :)

Love the Akuka civilians. Now to track them down!

I dont think that the new owners have been announced yet, but are due to be soon. My own suspicions are that the new owners will be Crooked Dice, or possibly Hasslefree, but Im just speculating.

Just heard back on the A kula civilians...definitely temporarily out of production and definitely not letting me know where they're going.

Both Crooked Dice & Hasslefree are good homes!

Hey Suber top job on Akulas not-Dune figs.

Some steampunk stuff given a proper Goth pj might work.

I've no idea if they scale well, but design wise they work for me as 80s-sci-fantasy civis :)
