When are your games set?

I don't stick rigidly to the timeline by any stretch of the imagination, or indeed the background.
But I like to know that the world I play in does have details and information even if I don't pay it much heed.

As I play WFB 3rd Edition my games are set in 2512.

i don't give it too much thought usually, but yes, around the official timeline for the editions i'm playing.

Well, I have played in the pre-history of 2nd Edition Warhammer timeline, Amazons & Lizardmen & Cavemen, and whenever the 2nd Edition Scenarios are supposed to be set, but normally just use the game system to play generic fantasy nonsense. Oh and I think we decided that my Wood Elves vs. my mates Dwarves were the Warhammer Dwarf/Elf war back in the day.

Oldhammer isn't just about GWs official campaign setting, pretty much everything from 1st Edition - Thistlewood, Minas Tirith, Redwake River Valley, Forces of Fantasy, most of the Arcane Ramblings, exists outside it, and a lot of the cool stuff from 2nd Edition, Albion, Lustria, got retconned out.

I guess they are not set in any particular time more in a geographical entity that is the old and new world with the various kingdoms as sort of set out in 2nd/3rd/WHRP. So could be in Albion, Lustria, Empire, Border Princes, etc but not particularly linked to any events within that setting.
