WFB 3rd Edition in 10mm

Warhammer Siege is something I want to have a crack at in the future.
There are a number of 10mm castle walls on the market but they are all quite plain and flat.
I wanted something with overhangs and buttresses etc, so I decided to quickly make one from foam and make moulds to cast it up:

^Ooh, walls! You're definitely getting my heart rate up with this stuff. I love a good city wall. :)

These are basic, but I will be adding hoardings and the like at some point...

I wanted a war altar for Samantha's Dark Elves but with this being 10mm, I would need to make one.
But then I looked at how slow they are so decided it needed to be mounted on a wagon.

So I took to scratchbuilding one.
Greenstuff, plasticard, odds and sods and my designed me some 3d wheels that have 8 arrows as the spokes.

I may go back and add sycthes!

I use movement trays as pushing lots of light weight 10mm models around invariably ends up in things toppling over.
Now, I don't always remember to use them, but I made some inserts for my trays to hide the ugly trayness when casualties are removed:

One of the things that only recently hit home about why I went and got back into Warhammer was the fact I used to enjoy the innocence and creativity of it back in the day.
No internet hobby shops so terrain was either model train stuff or home made.
I have a few buildings for my village of Stoodhof from a commercial source, but they are historical and lack that sort of ramshackleness of The Empire.
They are too neat.

I decided I needed a watchtower for the borders and that my army being new to the area would try and fix up and old dilapidated one.
I am quite happy with the build, but am not so keen on the paint job of the wood, I may have to find some better varnish as it is too shiny (and also needs vegetation)

Anywho, here is the first scratchbuilt 10mm building I made:

The flags are removable in the unlikely event the tower should fall.

That's very nice, terrain and "the world" have always been my favourite parts of the hobby to be honest! I currently have a mine entrance project in mind to do.

These days I use Vallejo's polyurethane matte varnish, it seem robust isn't shiny and works through my airbrush, although I do brush it onto my metal minis to get a slightly thicker coat and ensure better coverage.

Thanks!

Got a link to some piccies so I can have a gander?

I wanted to play Mordheim for a while but lack of opponents and having to make a load of 28mm terrain put me off, my plan was to make a warband like the one in Flesh and Blood, ex soldiers led by Martin and clad in red.

Instead I went for Ogre Mercenaries for my 10mm Empire.

Morrsliebs Marauders led by Martyn with old school back banner!

Very nice.

You could always use the Empire in Flames setting/supplement to play Mordheim in the great outdoors. With your collection though, I’d be tempted to do it in 10mm which could make for some amazing city scapes if you fought over the ruins.

Been a tricky few weeks, managed some painting though.

I know that DE do not have chariots in their army list, but I have the models and there are rules for chariots so I decided why the heck not!!

This is my unit card for them.
