Warhammer Quest

A friend and I are planning to play, which means painting the models has become a Thing!
Raining today, so I'm starting off with my personal favourite - the minotaur, as they're already undercoated.

They'll be gloss varnished, and hopefully I'll remember to take photos before varnishing!

Cool stuff. Minotaurs are looking great - blue nails is a funky touch! I never had a copy of the game, but used to play it at a friend's place. I think the design with the doorways was an excellent idea, I wonder who at GW came up with it?

I've seen a couple lovely 3D boards created for the game online if you really want to pimp it out!

Oooh.
That would be a great idea.
I've quite a few flour tiles left over from a hirst arts project, so I could use those to make my own I think.
But if you've a link to anything in particular, that would be gratefully received!

Hummm seems bit-rot has set in on most of the sources, but there are still some pics scattered around the dreaded Pinterest: https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/warham...f-hashut-tabletop-gaming--818036719787798229/

And a video of someone building some tiles:

Always thought it looked like an excellent project since it was a bit self contained and fun mimicking the actual tiles.

never able to get Warhammer Quest.. always saw it as a newer (at the time) version of Heroquest.. and oh, when you look into the history of GW dungeon crawlers... how right that is.. but though the models were mostly reused, always kinda liked some of the plastics.. I have been able to pick up some of them... mostly some Rats and Snotlings, but this look nice and the colour style works well

A bit of departure from my normal method (which generally involves separate shading colors)
I tried this new version with the skaven, and now having a pop with the orcs.

Basecoat
Wash everything with Army Painter: Grimdark Shadow
Highlight x 2
Varnish

Anyway, did the basecoat this morning, and am n now waiting for it to dry to try out highlighting...
