Warhammer English Civil War Rules

As ECW-era stuff is on a medium-term wishlist (with a couple of projects in mind) I appreciate seeing this thread here! I do think Warhammer Ancients counts for the purposes of oldhammer.

Far north of Scotland... that said I have been known to hop around England for games when I have to be in England for work purposes anyway, and anything accessible via the East Coast main line is especially do-able.

What kind of points level do you think the game is playable at? I figure 1000 points should be enough to have a decent game

Same. I am awaiting delivery of a starter force at about 600 points.
Which will be my sort of sized force for small story driven skirmish games.

1000 should be a few hours play I reckon.

Hmm ok well I might work something out for 600 points and see where that takes me. I also have the Once upon a time in the west country rules which are for very small ECW era skirmishes (c. 6 figures a side) and which I would like to try out.

This is sort of how I think the best way to base them, units of 8 or multiples thereof.

I also bought from Bicorne Miniatures and will be also using Bloody Miniatures as these are the same size so will fit well.
I have some spare plastic GW style bases and will individually base.

This is what my first order will allow me to make.
It gives you one of each sort of regiment.

Obviously people's mileage may vary but I think Warhammer Ancients (and therefore Warhammer ECW as an offshoot of that whole thing) is surely Middlehammer. And if people are offended by the historical nature they can just pretend it's an Empire army? ;) In all seriousness I'm personally interested but obviously I get if other people think it's too much of a stretch.
