twisted moon's 2026

Been falling since the 2014 start, or just when most of the world started to care?

not trying to be offensive to you, so sorry but more a comment on some people ^_^; both sides are lead by... less then great people...

but it's some nice kit they make up.

the lead & steel '26 event miniature, tarktik the arctic space monkey:

i decided his weapon is some sort of combi-weapon incorporating a needle pistol.

although obviously intended to be a jokaero, i didn't feel he matched this:

... whereas he did seem a good fit with this:

so i went with the skin and fur colours of the skiffle musician and the colours of my space pirates for his clothing.

since painting the above i started working on some scatter terrain for the 'how to do oldhammer' game at bring out your lead.
it was already slow going, but with the announcement that boyl has been cancelled for this year, i lost motivation.
i will, of course, continue but have instead turned my attention to getting my scenario for this year's tobcon written.
i didn't want to totally stall on wargaming progress however, so have painted the barrels and crates i got in the lead & steel goody bag.

these are fdm prints from dragons forge studio.

^Barrels and boxes are always useful. You never know what's in one until you make a successful die roll. ;-)

I hear you about the BOYL blues. I'm glad bootleg BOYL is happening, but I'm not sure I can get myself over that distance for a one day event, and house expenses have gotten away from me this year anyway. (Why is life so expensive, I ask?)

Anyway, good luck reclaiming your modeling mojo, and some useful objectives sound like a great way to do so.

a bit of a slow start to the year, but i have been working on some sci-fi gubbins.

another staircase from blotz, and ammunition / toolbox from the goliath truck i painted last year, and some more walkways made from coffee stirrers, card and car body mesh. it wasn't until i'd finished my last turn of the 5pfh campaign that i recalled i'd made a couple previously, but i managed to find them again, so i now have six of the longer, thinner ones.

the shorter wider ones are designed to allow me to connect the stairs to the roofs of some (most?) of my buildings.

i also stopped procrastinating and got this tower done.

the structure has been sitting painted for some time, while i tried to decide what to turn it into.

i'm not absolutely certain what that is.

perhaps a communcations tower of some (almost certainly illicit) sort.

expect to see it in future games of 5pfh.
Looks great!
