The sun will never set on the Slann Empire

Thank you all very much for the comments. The Slann received at last some reinforcements, i hope these pass their Stupidity Tests and break the Wood Elf lines. Two Troglodytes by Bob Naismith unleash their Stench. Also received a very generous gift of some old Lizardmen. but this will be a very long term project to get enough to field a unit . Mostly been painting Chaos the past months so better update Grenja´s Wicked Brigades soon but this is a mighty task which shall be postponed until tomorrow at the earliest. Thanks for looking, i really like these figures and am looking forward to use them as the Giant Scorpion and Warhound handlers tend to get picked off by missile fire, leaving them to scuttle harmlessly off the field, long before reaching the enemy.

Thanks very much Twisted Moon and Inchmurin, i believe these were released as ADandD range Troglodytes. I need to get the rereleased ones by Meier one day. Just painted this Ral Partha Coatl to add to the small Coatl Family here. This should help the Slann against their bane - the warmachines. really enjoyable to paint this. Now i see them together, the 4th one at the back will need some fresh colours at some point.

The Slann celebrated their victory over Grenja´s forces by getting the Scotia Grendel ´Ruined Aztec Temple´ from Battlefield Berlin shop. Though there are rumours of wicked rituals to reanimate Grenja in the southern swamps of Lustria after the Red Redemption retrieved his skull from the field. I enjoyed very much painting the temple and hope fairly soon to be able to get some battles again soon and use the Temple. I will upload now the rest of the Slann recruits painted the past months. Thanks for looking.

Then i finally finished the ´Tenoch´ Cold One Riders by Kev Adams, from The Little Toy Soldier Company. I added a Diehard Miniatures shield to the standard bearer. This unit joins the Blue Slann from the second largest Slann city here. The standard depicts the skull fetish of a Slann chief, who was killed by treacherous Amazons. The Slann retrieved the skull at Boyl last year on the big temple game by Thantsants.

Then i decided to repaint my red Slann Jungle Braves and replaced some of the shields with Ral Partha, Diehard and Tenoch ones. Their chief on Cold One may still get more work such as repainting the Antlers on the skull. I decided to leave the rough white spots on their skin, even though they are rough, i liked them as they fit the idea of a remote Slann tribe that still feasts on human settler flesh and other ambushed Slann from the central cities. When they march under the Green frog standard then they are marching with the rest of the Slann, united against a common threat.

Here is the reverse side of the standard , painted recently. And at last i began to strip the Venom Tribes and began the first unit of Orange ones. Here they are hunting a Giant Frog. I still need to finish the Orange ones then can begin to strip the rest but added 2 other Orange Slann to get the unit up to 10 for now.

Then yesterday after spending several days building the Warhammer Townscape card buildings set decided it was time to make a Slann house. This a Slann Chief´s dwellings. The rest will be simpler and smaller houses made using the same technique as the Townscape ones, i think, they will be drawn templates, then colour photo copied and glued on heavier card to make simple houses. I hope to start this the next days.

And finally, here the roof and on top of the roof, as Commander of the Blue Bull Slann or as a Troglodyte Hero the ´Tainted Amphibian Champion´ from Knightmare Miniatures. Thank you for looking!

This is a great looking project. Where did you get the huts from the village on page 1? Did you make them or do you know what company sold them?

both great companies. you've done a marvellous job on the temple.

Thank you Twisted Moon, i agree about both companies. Very fortunate to have Battlefield near here, because of its vast range of stock but also its gaming room at the back. Thanks also Tauntaun Scout. The Huts on page 1 are from Scotia Grendel. On their website you will find them under 28mm Fanstasy Scenery. I think they are from the ´Goblin Stronghold´set on menu page 5. Cheers Paul! Yes, rapidly running around out of space here, and starting to build the Warhammer Town buildings set does not help! but really enjoying. Thanks also for your offer of Cold Ones . i will get back to you about this. Slightly nervous to start an oldhammer dark elf project , as i know it will lead to definitely needing more and more of them and i dont know what i would have to give you in return. but thank you and looking forward to see more of yours painted!

good to see the tenoch and note they scale nicely with citadel, although that makes the temptation to get some that much harder to resist.
your paint jobs are as delightfully colourful as always.

Hail Pygmy Witch Doctor,

I have long loved your colourful painting.
It looks like you use washes to bring your bright colours, or is it the Citadel Contrast paints???

Would you feel ok, sharing your painting technique?

Slaves and wealth to your Pygmies!
