The grand army of King Bruno the Questionable (Bretonnia)

Thought I'd line up all my mighty Knights and smelly Peasants today to see what I actually have and try and plan some sort of painting roster. Didn't realise I had so much do, but it's gonna be worth it when it's done.

Most of the minis are Victrix or Wargames Atlantic, with some Perry and Fireforge thrown in there. I'm using historical minis to try and capture the vibe from the studio army from the tail end of 3rd (WD138? Ish era), thats always been my favourite iteration of Bretonnia.

Here's a quick pic of everything I have built so far, minus 18 Knights I don't have at home. I'll get better pics of individual units soon.

We don't talk about Bruno. ;)

Good luck slapping paint on that lot. I agree with your comment about Bretonnians in 3rd ed. - Dave Andrew's army looked the business (and suspiciously like it was a repurposed historical army).

So many models, but yes, it will be cool when eventually done though.

(So many circular bases too?)
Im repurposing some Barons War minis as place holders until I can build replacements on square bases. That should be in June when I pick up Barons War 2nd ed, plenty of spare plastic in that box set.

When I get all this painted additional purchases will be the Wargames Atlantic mounted knights and sergeants, Victrixs foot knights and sergeants when they finally get released, and some Robin of Sherwood Normans from Conquest Games.

I also have to build some peasant huts, a river, grail chapel, graveyard, hills, stone walls, wattle fencing, village poop pile, and trees, so many trees. So not much to do lol.

Are you mostly starting from scratch ?
It feels like you are, and I can empathise having done the same when I got back into 25mm almost exactly 1 year ago.

Yea I gave up on 40k, sold most of my stuff off, briefly dabbled with Warhammer Ancients for some Norman/Viking goodness, then drifted back into Fantasy. Got tons of terrain for sci fi games, nothing for fantasy apart from 9 trees and the castle. Could be lazy and buy some peasant huts, but they won't be MY peasant huts.
