The Army of Bosch

Piers B

Baron
Finished the last two units tonight to call a halt on my Dwarf Army (well I've run out of Stunties... anyone got any?) and time to start another Oldhammer army...

The final unit is my less than glamorous support and logistics troops, led by the illegitimate son of the previous King Bosch. As the unit is responsible for all mining and engineering tasks, it keeps the bastard son away from the glory most of the time, but Grom 'The Black' Dekkar is still managing to cause a stir and his men seem quite capable of dealing with any trouble they find...

These two units complete the first phase of the army, and the Brothers Bosch will soon take to the field...

Wow!!

That is a seriously impressive army that you can be justifiably proud of!

A fully painted Imperial Dwarf army is something that I aspired to as a kid.
Maybe now that I am getting old it may get done.
One day....

Great inspiration if/when I finally get around to it.
Thank you.
:)

And some people says that plastic troopers are better than the metal ones ... Ah, the fools!!
Wonderful and a very charismatic army, every one of the stunties are characters in their own way. I love all of them, phisically
PD: I still think that an icon on the shields will be better ;)

Still not happening... ;)

Battleshields... Just colours. You cant see in the pics but that do have some slight damage painted on too.

I was gonna add flags too, then figured they would just get in the way in tunnels. A pole with an emblem seemed more suitable for dragging round tunnels...

The shields with emblems and banners come out for parades in front of the home Karak... ;)

Phenomenal! Each dwarf has his own character, and the presentation en masse just looks stunning. I particularly like your unit filler in the miner unit :)

Great looking army, imperial dwarfs at their most impressive. Nice work unifying them with the heraldic colours but keeping a lot of individuality in the units up close.

Just bases and shields left on the last two units...

Brunhilda is the sister of the three Bosch brothers, and has attained some notoriety for her choice of husband. Rather than marrying within the circles chosen for her by her father and brothers, she chose to marry an outsider, a Dwarf from the Empire - Baron de Walt. While regarded as rather foppish and outlandish by the Bosch clan, he has proved his worth on the battlefield, both in personal feats of arms and also by bringing his personal retinue of Thunderers and cannon, known as 'Philips Revenge', on campaign with the Army of Bosch. Even the three Bosch brothers have begrudgingly admitted his worth.

Brunhilda herself is always seen in the thick of the action, much to the chagrin of her brothers, and her bodyguard Krupp, a Dwarf from Kislev, never leaves her side. She carries 'Ragnok', a sword gifted to her by her maternal Grandfather and a weapon of some repute with which she slew the Orc Warlord Zagnut Grilz in single combat while defending the wounded Krupp. Krupp is intensely loyal, and with him and Baron de Walt at her side in battle, the trio form a formidable fighting force in the front rank of their spear armed regiment.

Princess Brunhilda de Walt, seen stood between her husband, Baron Philip de Walt and her bodyguard Krupp.

Beautiful work, so full of character and just how I would imagine a dwarf army. The bright colours look wonderful and the pale base really helps make it all pop. Well done!
