As a few of you may have noticed the painting of the Chaos horde as dropped on to a back burner in preparation of my task for BOYL 2014. So, it say's on the tin, - theses are the figures I'll be preparing for the big day, I've seven to eight months to get there - I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I will

Very nice collection! I'd never have the courage to put that many unpainted figures on a to-do list at once.

Looking forward to seeing you progress through them.

Hey, if I didn't challenge myself, why bother? The venture is worth having a go and if, I fail to complete all of them - I'll still have those I do and eight months is quite along time in the scheme of things.
Any way here's more pictures

Well, I have to say it is very ambitious but it seems feasible. You already have my repsect for taking the bet to complete all of these and I give you my full support (which won't help you much but here it is anyway ;).
Some very good references gere I'm eager to see pianted by yourself

Cheers

Thanks for the vote, I'm quite happy to work on the basis of - one man, one vote & you're the man!

Not sure where to start, but thinks the Slann priest - on the basis, that it''ll take time and therefore best to get it out of the way sooner rather than later - watch this space.

Season's greeting

Really great add to your actual army !! You have more than 3000pts? I look forward to seeing them with colors.
You don't try to build a unit of Human slaves?

That's impressive, how far are you in your progression? (or maybe you don't want to spoil the surprise...) Both Snakemen and Meier lizardmen are wonderful models, enjoy as much as you can !

Very slowly - at the moment, but as the evening get longer so will my time for painting, like any true saurus the warmer it gets the more active it is. So things are beginning to move - The Slann Mage is primed and base coats applies with detail starting to be added; the snakemen have been stripped, primed and first coats applied. A load of Lizardmen are in the jar covered in more paint removal fluid, so I'm comfortable with how things are progressing at the moment. If, I get them all done for August, I'm not sure but I'll have a damned good go.
Should really post photos but it's such a faff, and cuts back on painting time, so you'll just have to wait and see.

Slow, but sure; things are starting to progress - skin base coats on the Snakemen I recently picked up. Things have already moved on since I took these pictures - should have the eight started - just about done by close of the weekend.

Thank you, yes the collection is large, but impressive - in number only, until it's painted to an acceptable standard it remains effectively useless :( :( :( ; hence the effort to get it painted and to make me apply myself to the task at hand . The more I paint, the more reason to paint  .

Here's hoping I get it done.

Question - To strip or not to strip? dilemma I've just taken delivery of four more Snakemen which have been painted in with a basic technique but IMO rather good way which I'm considering keeping this means their going to stand out like the proverbial sore thumb (I cant replicate the colour scheme, it's not in my repertoire) What do you think? Yes, mine are the ones which grab you by the eye sockets and shake you!

Same as Bruno, the stripping is not the most time consuming part (you can do it in big batches) and it will help you tie all of them together. I really like your "repertoire" ;) and I once heard the most colourful jungle creatures are, the deadlier... these have got to be on top of the food pyramid...

Great work as usual.

Well, no going back now then, only took two attempts to get them there and a lot of second thoughts; but their in the pot with the rest of lead which needed a bath.

I've finished the first eight and based them up today, will hopefully post pictures tomorrow, once I've down loaded the camera and tweaked the pictures, next twelve miniatures on the go and looking good. :)

Thanks for the push guys

Love this thread - not only does it allow me to feast my eyes on some marvelous old lead, it's also stoking my excitement for this year's oldhammer weekend.
