but then i've been a sucker for nail art techniques in miniature painting since watching a sylvie paints video on youtube.

That's interesting, makeup silicone stamp from the looks of things. I remember talking to someone about those some years back and wondering about using them for "printing" on models, never did actually try it however. I shall have to watch the video, I wonder if you would have to use the nail varnish or if acrylics would work okay? Guess the biggest impediment to a DIY approach would be having an engraver to do you plates, still I know a few folk here are into their lasers!

Interesting video, always cool to see techniques cross between areas. I sometimes use very fine makeup sponges from time to time and I've still got some nail varnish shelves I used as paint shelves from my old office knocking around somewhere. Most of my airbrush paints are in an "essential oils" case so very open to pinching stuff from other disciplines!

That’s quite cool. I used nail art transfers for my Eldar Warp spiders to put a random web design on their back as I couldn’t be bothered with painting it. Well I say couldn’t be bothered. What I mean is I don’t have the skill.

youtube has cycled the sylvie paints video i mentioned back to me again:
