I recently finished these converted space rats for the Lead Painters League at the LAF.

Hre's how I did the conversions:

I found this old picture too, of converted Blood Bowl skaven I did 20 years ago (except the one with the heavy stubber, which I did some years later).

The Blood Bowl Skaven are awesome as Space Skaven. I think that is probably the best Space Skaven I have seen so far.

Wow, great use of the gretchin! I might have to steal the idea of doing a head-swap and make some mutants, or even halflings.

Really great conversions and nicely ratty painting to go with them. I always wanted that Blood Bowl team to do that kind of conversion, it is great to see it done in the flesh. I am sooo jelly. 8-)

Sad to see the BB Skaven used in such a way (assume figures that I wish I had) but they look so good I think I can forgive you - in fact, it almost looks as if that's what they were designed for!

What are the parts that have gone into the skaven in the top picture? Are those the old monopose gretchin?

Yeah, I know. I did these way before they went OOP and I became a thirty-something nostalgic.
I suppose we all have some old converted minis lying around, cut up even, beyond repair...

Yes, the plastic 2nd ed. gretchin with (pressmoulded-) plastic 'warhammer regiments' skaven heads. a couple of them have mordheim skaven tails.
