Space Crusade returns!

It's a kind of Godwins law of oldhammer:

"As any Oldhammer discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Laserburn approaches 1"

Reductio ad Laserburnum.

By the way, I played Space Crusade last week [the real one], but using the combat system from Advanced Space Crusade. It was awesome.

Actually, it was pretty chaotic. The combat system itself is excellent fun, but the force-size point system in ASC, applied to standard SC, means that the entire Chaos/Alien player's force amounts to 800 points.

This allows the Space Marine player to have, for example, two Terminator Squads, a Tactical Squad and a Librarian. However, Gretchin, who make up the majority of the Chaos/Alien player's force, cannot POSSIBLY hurt Terminators, which is fluff appropriate (flintlock rifles vs Tactical Dreadnought Armour...yeah right) but somewhat game-breaking!

Next time we're going to try the Tyranid Attack rules, which are less detailed but, hopefully, more robust.

But still referencing the biomechanical aspects, the biomech, cyber, alien-skulls and junk-bot bits don't seem to have come together cohesively in the way Giger may have done (but then very few artists can).
I wonder if Giger fapped to his works

I have no idea. Giger was married to Li Tobler, the model for a number of his paintings, both before and after her suicide. He was also a renowned womaniser and one assumes the relationship between his art and his sex life was more than just his hand.
I mean if he generally found them sexually appealing.

Interesting. Shame I can't find any of her videos.

I'm not really comfortable with the idea of the Crusades being evoked in this way (nor with Hasbro / GWs use in the 90s), being far too tied into the medieval roots of anti-semitism and islamophobia.
I wish someone would bring back Laserburn and Red Redemption  .

Wishes really can come true! http://www.15mm.co.uk/collections/laser ... ce-fiction
I know this site. That's where I ordered my Laserburn rulebook and several miniatures.
I meant a real re-edition. New, coloured books, miniatures and books available in gaming stores, promotion, etc.

I am very happy to learn tonight that Prodos have changed the name of their product to SPACE CRUSADERS, thus preserving the sanctity of the original title and original game.

Damn, I was hoping for 'Mama Nurgle and the Temple of Boobies'.
