Snotlings on Bases

I've been on the lookout for a reasonably priced one for years, he's so small I imagine he got lost easily so he's quite rare.
Would love to get a Gobbledigook too! I know the strip is a little groan inducing, but it encapsulates that irreverent era of WD…

Anyway, back to Snotling base sizes, these 8-9 on a base that are in my collection do look a little overwhelmed… need at least 6 to represent the wounds I guess?

When I was a child I named my green pet budgie 'Gook' after the aforementioned greenskin, I had no idea there was a model of him...

That would be of the White Dwarf Personalities special set (SS6) created for #50 of White Dwarf. Ian Livingstone, The White Dwarf, Thrud the Barbarian, Gobbledigook, Niblitz, Agaroth the Unwashed, Ogbash facesplitter, Griselda and Wolfhead.

To add to it of course, C04 set had a Steve Jackson, C01 had a Bryan Ansell, as did 2 Weird Fantasy Figures. No Derek the Troll.. and the only one I know that was made was a one-off I believe so.. Gonna have to sculpt myself or get a better sculpture to do one ^_^

Looks like both 3ed and 4ed give 3 wounds. I've started up a base with about 5 (including one larger figure) to see how it looks.

No Derek the Troll mini!?! Missed a trick there! :?

Mr Fairlamb has made a personal sculpt, which looks pretty neat: https://www.miniatures-workshop.com/lostminiswiki/index.php?title=Random_Sculpts

I spotted that Snotling base wounds had been increased shortly after posting this, had been referring to ToW rules… I had a unit of Giant Slayers contend with some on Wednesday and was put off guard by how much punishment they initially took, I even lost a couple of slayers from some bad dice rolls!!

yep, though techinally that page is wrong 'old white dwarf character'.. nope.. Mr Stringer created him for a contest in Warlock magazine (Fighting Fantasy) and while he didn't win the contest, they liked him and got him the job (the winner also got into the magazine). When Warlock ended, he transferred to White Dwarf but while the staff like him, the readers appeared to have a different view and so the strip ended.

He then returned in 'You are the Hero' volume 1 with a reprint and a new strip (Fighting Fantasy history/information book). I think he didn't want, for some reason, to put the strip in the combined volume which is a bit of a shame but oh well. Since then, 11 out of 12 part story appeared in 'Goof!' online comic, and a couple of other bits and pieces.

Ah, so ToW has doubled the strength of snotlings? mm..

Snotlings have been working out.. increase in movement, strength, Toughness, Wounds, Attacks and you can field less of them.. which makes sense since they are more powerful

This discussion makes me feel better about my sparsely populated snotling bases. Would the rule about outnumbering enemies 3:1 still use nine notional snotlings per base?
