sculpting ribbons

I've tried a couple of ways and far from happy with any so far but anyone got some tips on sculpting ribbons, as in someone has a bit of ribbon tied around there arm, or waist or leg into a bow?

I have tried flat bit of green stuff and making it into a bow. I have tried to kinda 'sculpt' the bow shape. might just need more practice but just not feeling it coming out well at all
 
I do bows with a small rectangle of putty. Push a pin or knife blade either side of a small middle section for the bit that is tied, then at right angles to this with a pin for the creases. Lastly press into the top and bottom, dragging out slightly, to open up the 'loops'.
 
mmm... while I checked to see if I asked before.. that sounds familiar.. just tried it.. Take a photo tomorrow when it's dried.. still needs work/practice.. kinda wanna cheat.. If I can sculpt a couple of decent ones, I'll make a mould ^_^

tried 4.. dropped one and so far.. this aren't great.. I was gonna say complete rubbish but.. I think I'm getting SOMETHING right.. just need a fair bit more practice.
