RTB01 Space marines - army finished (Pic heavy)

As promised over in the new member board my Rogue Trader marine army. Painting style was very cartoonish to try and capture the feel I had from when I first read the rulebook as a teenager. Therefore be prepared for mottos, kill tallies and graffiti aplenty. All markings and slogans were painted freehand to try and improve my skills so apologies for wobbly arrows etc. Bases are deliberatly minimalist as my gaming board is bare mdf at the moment and will probably just be a brownish texture as it plays for a wide range of games.

Oh - and I know the arm on the librarian is from a different terminator cast but couldn't source the right one at the time  . My completely original terminators are in the space hulk set which were gloss varnished so don't photograph at all.

2nd squad (Tactical and the squad that started it as a Gm controlled issue for a 28mm inquisitor campaign - never seen so many 'hard' characters running for it when the second marine cut his way in!)

Still to photograph - Vanguard squad (Veteran assault)
Still to paint - Chapter master (the original Calgar type model - his bodyguard is already in the devastators)

Oh and just for giggles my Assassin (not sure how retro this is but his lead) and the OLD astropath/navigator model who usually resides in my Judge Dredd gang.

Real nostalgia trip with these Marines. Takes me back to my RTB01s (now sadly departed), finished in a Legion of the Damned scheme complete with similar grafitti motifs! Thanks for sharing :)

I enjoy the graffitti and slogans. We need more of this stuff going on with models. Nice work.

I am a big fan of the graffiti.

I started in 2d Ed (it was the then-newly released boxed set that brought me into the hobby). But frankly the rogue trader vision of marines has always struck more of a chord with me. Really like your embrace of that.
